I have a question, what abilities do you use, or say are good for azeroth. I mean from Like Nullify ring out A, Unstoppable attacks, or Hp Drain, witch will you say are good?

how do u do the combo on the second video? when the opponent is flying and catches him in mid air to do the back breaker? i can't seem to do it...tried jumping but that's not it...hope someone can help out,,,thanks!
nope...the characters have different strengths and ways of dealing damage... the mechanics have insane depth and variety...theres gi's, stuns, tech traps, throw setups, ring outs, critical finishes, armor break, just frames.....ive been playing the game since it came out and im still discovering new things when playing online.....
The only consistent thing I can find is what's consistent with all fighters: mixup. Never let the opponent know what you're going to do. Anticipate his response to what he'd anticipate you'd do, and do the counter to the counter. Juggling is a useful skill with certain characters, but it's nowhere near as dominating as Tekken due to aerial control. Once you're juggled, you can start moving wherever you want in the air.
thats all when and good but when u mix up and its your turn to block i just get wailed on well mainly by maxi players who give u no room to impact any advice btw i use mitsurugi
@RP88888 Only now have I discovered I can check on replies to comments, so sorry for not replying. Maxi actually gives plenty of opportunities to impact because he doesn't have many true combos, just tremendous mixup. Many of his attacks will go into stances, which themselves lead into a lot of quick attacks at any height. The combo stops when he does those changes, so you can impact the next hit.
@Organous thanks for the help its much appreciated yeh i noticed those little stances he does when switchin to mix ups and i know exactly what your talkingabout. So when he changes his stance kinda thingy its bascially an end of the last combo and a beginning of a new one so i can impactt he first hit because of that transistion it gives me time ?????? thanks a bunch maxi gives me such a headache
My favorite combo (and it does more than any of the combos you showed in the vid) is : CH 3A, 6B, 22_88[K], 22_88B
3A can be shaken unfotunately. Another thing i love about this combo is that if they try to tech 22_88[K], this combo ends up doing 20-30 more damage.
I'm pretty sure it was the "my combo does more damage" bit that got you that -1; most people take that comment as "my combo is better and you suck."

The secret to playing him well (against real people) is outsmarting your opponent. A good Astaroth player should also dabble in all other characters to know when his most powerful moves are most viable. Otherwise he is too easily parried or punished. I main him because I think more about what my opponent is thinking than what I'm going to do. Which is great cuz honestly all of his combos are easy (don't require much thought) you just have to read your opponent right...
in which case, what do you think of rock.....im discovering more and more that he lets you really play mind games with people more than any other character
Nice vid, ever since I started playing with Astaroth, I've been destroying my friend and his stupid fast Taki, no more ties or close matches so far. On a average match session he wins only about 1-2 matches out of 10. I still need to practice that Titian bomb though.
astarot is the lamest character in the game.. he is so obviously Imbalanced... just right next to siegfrie, mitsurugi,amy and sophitia... ... top tier character users are worthless gamers...

Tiers don't mean much btw. using a top tier character won't make you better. Its more about what play style your prefer. High level play is more mindgames anyway

This is a really old vid. I thought of making a new one, but others have already done it. Astaroth isn't about long combos anyway. He's better with tech traps and short wall combos.
A simple CH 3K,A, W! 3K,A, W! 2A does around 50%. Why show really long, hard-to-pull-off combos when easy simple ones do more?
yeh alot of his hits that are really easy to pull of do copious amounts of damage (22)B,4, 2,8 B+G for example. And lets not forget that unless an opponent gets up instantly whenever they are knocked down you can nail them with 2, A+K.

mmmm but alot of fans miss the point with SC4 i feel. Because he is a more polished character than ever. Massive damage sweet arse grabs especially his ground grabs to keep the opponent on their toes.

Yeah I really like what they did with him in SC4. In the past the high damage of his attacks didnt nearly make up for how slow he was. a good taki would beat a good asty most of the time. Now with all of his grabs, stun and fast unblockable attacks he is actually a very competitive character. You play on PS3?
If your opponent techs alot, there is more damage to A+G in the air, then 2B+G tech trap. Rather than to just titan bomb them. If they don't tech, 2B+K->A+G works as well (If you get this in, 1A will usually hit, some people will roll back though.) However the latter is sometimes harder to hit with, so the titan bomb might be a better choice if they aren't teching.
Look at the number pad on the right of your keyboard. Imagine that there's a joystick mounted on the "5" key. Now imagine the other numbers as directions, and you've just learned basic fighting game notation.
isn't up down left and right easier. i know about the number key myself. but i always have to stop and think. it's like if u met someone and they gave u directions to get somewhere and spit out alot of numbers.
also, not really a combo, but a fun trick: after 4B+K launcher, follow up with 3B+G (jumping low grab), if the opponent techs up, he'll get caught in it :)
No, because a combo usually stuns, juggles, and/or is guaranteed. A combo doesn't really rely much on opponent stupidity. Also, most strings have some sort of wakeup strategy or mind game.
i love hearing how astaroth is unbeatable (he is my favorite character after all), but he's far from that. although his attacks have what is most likely the greatest reach and highest damage, they are usually equally predictable and easy to counter :) don't forget that guard button guys!
Pretend the joystick or analog pad is the number pad on your keyboard, where 5 is the joystick's neutral position. Now 8 is up, 4 is back, 6 is forward, etc
He is not overpowered m8 Fast characters pwn him usually.
If you know how to block essentially the Big damage attacks you can Step up close and pwn him,(not to mention than at close range some of his attacks seem to pass through opponents).
You would think but not really, He has too many throw triggered attacks, He can kill you in 2 hits after he is done with the 2 throw moves at the end of them. Darth Vader is the Second character I know that can beat him, They dont have time to stop his Force Choke and his down attack after. Seigfried is First because Seigfried is somewhat overpowered himself and strings combos just as easily. But either way Asta is way better than the people who Spam the Samurai(Forgot his name sorry)
I dont get why people shit talk each other all the time over games. Ill admit that sometimes ill prefect someone then that same person i may fight later on and he kicks ten barrels of shite out of me with the same character i own previously. Its all down to the match. You can never just look at someone play and think "noob i own you" cos its people like that i laugh at when they lose. I use that 28G+B all the time. After a 66AB, a 22B4, a 63214G+B, 3[B], 236[B]. Man I just love it. I haven't tried after a 22K or a 33[K] though. I love his two hopping throws that nail tech crouchers all the time. "Just Kidding", yeah fuck you Xianghua, eat my Lava Drop of doom, over and over.
all he is doing is hit hit grab. these moves are simple. if you want to win in this game do this.. learn cervantes. he is a devestater of shields. hold back + x y at start of match. after he does first hit hold back x again an he will take off about 33% of there health. back up. as soon as they stand up press forward + x b which will release a shot. by this time they only have 33 percent health left. just move in sweep there legs do a grab or something an youll win. this is how i won 30 ina row

good video of the same grabs and moves over and over. that was a beginner strategy dipshit. all your doing is grabbing in training. i would duck every damn grab you tried to throw.i only use the teleport move when someone rushes me and you cant dodge it. same with the bullet. mostly i would just duck your grab an juts throw out unblockable attacks until you cry or throw your controller...hahahahahahahahaha

astaroth is a good character. i like his low grab. thats one of the things cervantes doesnt have that i wish he did. my problem is i always lose to anyone who uses cervantes against me. cause he is a ridiculous noob character if you dont know how to use him. i usually only use teleport to break an opponents guard and grab.

that was a great combo video thnx for making it i just started playing around with a custom character of mine who uses astaroths soul and i find his grabs style of fighting to be awsome .this was very helpful! 5/5
There's a fatal flaw to some of these combos. When you're stunned, you can wag your way out and recover from the continued combo after being hit such as the starting move with Minotaur crush.
But to those who are new to the game, I guess it's quite a start. There are still alot more combos for Astaroth. Well, good luck on it. =)
This was mostly a "middle ground" for beginners and vets. It's not too advanced, but advanced enough to get people started online. You can do these combos easily online against LV 25s and lower.
I only use about 3 or 4 of these combos in actual matches. Some are too risky, others are, like you said, shakeable.

Combos that end with air throw A+G can be continued with 1A+G for minor additional damage.
Oh, and there's a wall combo for Astaroth that does about 95% damage. However, it's very hard.

Anyways, Astaroth has 16 grabs/attack-throws in all! I just realized that...
A+G, B+G, left-side grab, right-side grab, back grab, 2A+K, 4B+K B, 28B+G, 214A, A+G air brab, 4[A+B], 2A+G, 2B+G, 1A+G, 63214A+G, and 63214B+G.

Yeah I really like what they did with him in SC4. In the past the high damage of his attacks didnt nearly make up for how slow he was. a good taki would beat a good asty most of the time. Now with all of his grabs, stun and fast unblockable attacks he is actually a very competitive character. You play on PS3?

If your opponent techs alot, there is more damage to A+G in the air, then 2B+G tech trap. Rather than to just titan bomb them. If they don't tech, 2B+K->A+G works as well (If you get this in, 1A will usually hit, some people will roll back though.) However the latter is sometimes harder to hit with, so the titan bomb might be a better choice if they aren't teching.

after counter hit 6B in any type of combo, as long as you are close enough ( you dont have to be super close ) you can get 22_88K > 22_88B
So to review its: CH 6B > 22K > 22B. it does more damage cuz the damage scale gets a reset

Just an obvious side note. If by chance your opponent is stunned on wall face first, a low grab results in a back throw. Pretty nasty.

22K, 66AB, 28B+G is an easy one.
also, not really a combo, but a fun trick: after 4B+K launcher, follow up with 3B+G (jumping low grab), if the opponent techs up, he'll get caught in it :)

One combo I notice you didn't include was 1[X] Y, 2 3 6 Y+B. Takes 90% of the enemy's health away if they're stupid enough to be hit by it.

No, because a combo usually stuns, juggles, and/or is guaranteed. A combo doesn't really rely much on opponent stupidity. Also, most strings have some sort of wakeup strategy or mind game.

i love hearing how astaroth is unbeatable (he is my favorite character after all), but he's far from that. although his attacks have what is most likely the greatest reach and highest damage, they are usually equally predictable and easy to counter :) don't forget that guard button guys!

Pretend the joystick or analog pad is the number pad on your keyboard, where 5 is the joystick's neutral position. Now 8 is up, 4 is back, 6 is forward, etc

He is not overpowered m8 Fast characters pwn him usually.
If you know how to block essentially the Big damage attacks you can Step up close and pwn him,(not to mention than at close range some of his attacks seem to pass through opponents).

You would think but not really, He has too many throw triggered attacks, He can kill you in 2 hits after he is done with the 2 throw moves at the end of them. Darth Vader is the Second character I know that can beat him, They dont have time to stop his Force Choke and his down attack after. Seigfried is First because Seigfried is somewhat overpowered himself and strings combos just as easily. But either way Asta is way better than the people who Spam the Samurai(Forgot his name sorry)

I use that 28G+B all the time. After a 66AB, a 22B4, a 63214G+B, 3[B], 236[B]. Man I just love it. I haven't tried after a 22K or a 33[K] though. I love his two hopping throws that nail tech crouchers all the time. "Just Kidding", yeah fuck you Xianghua, eat my Lava Drop of doom, over and over.

all he is doing is hit hit grab. these moves are simple. if you want to win in this game do this.. learn cervantes. he is a devestater of shields. hold back + x y at start of match. after he does first hit hold back x again an he will take off about 33% of there health. back up. as soon as they stand up press forward + x b which will release a shot. by this time they only have 33 percent health left. just move in sweep there legs do a grab or something an youll win. this is how i won 30 ina row

1.People can easily sidestep the flying move. 2.People can duck or sidestep the bullet you shoot.
3.And people can grapple break.

astaroth is a good character. i like his low grab. thats one of the things cervantes doesnt have that i wish he did. my problem is i always lose to anyone who uses cervantes against me. cause he is a ridiculous noob character if you dont know how to use him. i usually only use teleport to break an opponents guard and grab.

There's a normal and Just input for the Potemkin Buster. Make sure you're pressing 8 and B+G at together. The JF version is just a fast input.

Yeah, the first hit is sometimes 3A (or diagonal towards opponent and A if you don't understand the notation). And it has to be a counterhit to stun.

There's a fatal flaw to some of these combos. When you're stunned, you can wag your way out and recover from the continued combo after being hit such as the starting move with Minotaur crush.
But to those who are new to the game, I guess it's quite a start. There are still alot more combos for Astaroth. Well, good luck on it. =)

This was mostly a "middle ground" for beginners and vets. It's not too advanced, but advanced enough to get people started online. You can do these combos easily online against LV 25s and lower.
I only use about 3 or 4 of these combos in actual matches. Some are too risky, others are, like you said, shakeable.
