I'm sure all the poor animals shaking and hiding under the sofa, bed or whatever else they can hide under appreciate the hell out of the dumb ass humans "having fun" regardless of whose expense it's at.
Nothing like pyrotechnics and a bunch of stupid drunks to start the year off right.
Oh and just keep in mind that you lost the argument when you tossed out the race card. I didn't say a word about Hawaii or hawaiians or anyone else. Try to keep up. Lighting fireworks are NOT a hawaiian tradition. I while I'm on the subject, I'd venture to guess that you aren't hawaiian either.
haha on the contrary, i never mentioned anything about being Hawaiian thus i didnt pull the "race" card, i am talking about the culture of Hawaii, not Hawaiian culture. I didn't lose an argument for it never was one to start. it was a statement in response to your statement about AMERICAN culture. Maybe you should start off by learning how to read, followed up by learning how to comprehend. If you live in a house, drive a car etc you have impacted animals and continue to do so.
I'm sure you can but you can't name one that I do. You have no idea what my culture is or who I am so don't make any assumptions here. And all your arguments are dead on the subject because bottom line, ITS AGAINST THE LAW. I'm not going to argue the point with you since you have no ammo so keep your comments off my page or I'll just delete them. I don't care what you think anyway. These are MY opinions on MY page.
As i said before, fireworks have been a part of the culture here in hawaii before it was a state, probably before you even came here. Society is so messed up nowadays that we care more about animals than our own human race. Dont get me wrong i care about all of my animals but i am not going to sacrifice something that has been done for years on end to cater to some animals just so that they don't get scared a couple nights a year.
Its not one day a year either. Its 2 holidays with them starting to shoot them off days before. 6 days this year for NYE in my neighborhood. And yes I am seriously complaining. You don't care that your animals are scared. Says more about you than I've already imagined you to be.
I can name off several of things that AMERICANS do on a daily basis that scare animals? Why do you make exceptions for that? You know why? simply because you are one dimensional and do not support the culture of hawaii? You wouldnt understand it and never will unless you open up your mind to our culture. Do your research and you will find the truth to hawaii and our culture here!
I am in my country. As long as its illegal, that's the end of the story. If you want the law changed maybe you should put your effort there.
As for me, all I can do is file a formal complaint against against the HPD officer sitting outside enjoying all the merriment of my next door neighbor bombing the shit out of my neighborhood.
I get it though...your probably one of those people who refer to the mainland as "the states" right? As if we aren't true AMERICANS...The fact that the police dept. was not enforcing the law is something that happens no matter where you go and is not particular to one state or country. Don't post comments on here belittling the people of hawaii and our culture and not expect to get comments back.
Private aerials are illegal in the STATE of Hawaii. I didnt say that they were'nt, you took a cheap shot at the culture of Hawaii. You basically said to "go and celebrate your culture in your own country". Correct me if i am wrong though Hawaii is part of America right? Thus part of the COUNTRY? Are you saying that no where else in the 50 states celebrates New Years Eve, Well your wrong because they do and you can buy aerial fireworks in some states for new years eve as well.
Try telling that to my poor animals who are scared out of their skin every time these inconsiderate assholes hold us hostage with these illegal bombs twice a year. Too bad there is no attempt to enforce the laws of this state. Nevermind those who can barely breathe on a good day much less when the sky is filled with thick lung scorching smoke for days on end. Yes, its all about you and your "cultural" rights. Maybe you could go celebrate your culture in your own country where its legal.
You know i normally dont say much about peoples comments on youtube as i use it primarily for music and to have fun however statments like this really irritate me. First of all it just so happens that setting off fireworks has been a tradition in hawaii for years on end and these aerial fireworks were once legal.
The difference now to then is that before they used to be all rockets, of which caused majority of the fires. Now, the fireworks are much more safer and houses are built a lot better thus there are less fires caused by fireworks.
And then we have people saying that the aerial fireworks and firecrackers cause a lot of smoke which is not true. How can you validate that when they sell smoke bombs in the store? These novelty items such as fountains make an incredible amount of smoke compared to aerial fireworks. I have pets myself and it scares them as well however for one day out of the year are you seriously complaining?
Its all about you? uhuh sounds like it because you cant sacrifice one day out of the year in recognition of a tradition that was engrained in the state of hawaii long before you came here. Why dont you go back to your country instead because apparently you aren't an american citizen like the rest of us are here in hawaii!
From 4:46 to 5:09 I counted about 40 titanium salute bursts. 1 salute costs about 25 dollars, so 25 x 40 = 1000. So thats $1,000 gone in 23 seconds. overkill? No way! lol. 5 stars.
Nice!

Private aerial fireworks are illegal in Hawaii and are dangerous to people, pets, wildlife, and the environment no matter what you say.
The part of it that's AMERICAN culture is the 4th of July ones set off by city/county/ or state officials under regulated, safe conditions.
