Hi, did you go to the Clacton rally, and did you make any new video's please? I couldn't go myself although I did want to. I might see if I can go to the one in Southend if its on this year. I haven't seen a listing yet so I don't know.
@paulowenrussell Hello. I didn't manage to get to Clacton this year. I upload my videos as I make them. I hope to go to some more rallies this year, time permitting.
Hi, fantastic video and slide show. Will you be putting any more up please? Do you know when other open days are going to be held in Essex? I know there is a web site but shows get changed or rearranged and its possible the web site could be out of date. The Bristol Lodeka is a firm favorite of mine as is the Leyland RT and the AEC RM. There are some other great video's here but I've not had time to look at them all yet. I will soon I hope. I may even put up a video or two myself soon.
@paulowenrussell Thank you for your comment. I hope to go to the Clacton Rally on 6th June. I usually attend some other rallies over the summer. If I do, I'll upload some videos, as usual. In the meantime, there are plenty there to keep you busy. :) I only go to Canvey Island once a year for their October show.
Thank you for your kind comment, Glyn. My favourite bus of all time, as you can probably work out from the number of Lodekkas which appear in my videos. :)
I used to 'pilot' a Lodekka all over Europe for a corporate hospitality firm (BUS FARE)c1983 It was like flying a Lancaster with the wings chopped off ! The cab was either freezing or gas mark 5.Noise flat-out needed earplugs or Walkmans (trendy in those days !) she was refitted with a galley at the rear, lower saloon & upper deck fitted out in Orient Express style conference facility , exhibition space or viewing lounge for sports events.
dident the 151 run brough benfleet? back in the day.I no they ran that model on that route also the cream and light blue double deckers.I wonder if i can get a diecast model with the caste point livery of each of these double decks?
i proberly was a passenger on that bristal way back when.
I see Jaywick was mentioned,i still go there,i walk from st osephs to clacton past jaywick.
I am not from Essex, so I suggest that you contact ConcreteBarge who has commented below as he seems to know the area. Otherwise, contact the museum. I mentioned Jaywick as we used to go there every year for our summer holidays when I was little. I went back there a few months ago for the first time in almost twenty years.
I remember this type of bus from my childhood holidays in Jaywick. That's why I love them so much as well as the fact that they appear in my favourite programme - On the Buses. As for the buffering, I noticed it too this evening but it's probably only temporary.

It,s a pleasure my friend.
My only regret is that as a bus and coach driver for the last Eighteen years I never got to drive one of the old girls in service,

never thought I would hear that engine again.

These are what I fondly remember - the 151 & No.3
Unfortunately youtube is buffering badly (on virgin) making it difficult to watch anything.
