  • The original version is good too ... but I have to admit I'm partial to this version. Went to buy it on Itunes but you have to buy the entire cd soundtrack.

Great vocal work ... the guy is amazing.

  • The vocals in this track is just amazing.. best song in Rock Star

  • such a nice bass line ex Dokken Jeff Pilson ^^

  • ZAKK WYLDE KICK ASS

  • I drop everything I do just to pretend I'm shouting along and singing the "we all die young" part. It's just so AWESOME.

  • @Selene3210 Dude... i do that too! that part is just so fucking awesome!

  • cooooooool!

  • i knew that a band was missing from the wonderful 80s

and I think I found in steel dragon

  • @gunner2477rayado look up steelheart, this is theirs ;)

  • It's the bass and drums that makes this song.

  • this is actually a very good song

  • <3

  • VERY STRONG SONG!!!

  • I can actually sing this song really good, when I am not singing Black metal.

  • @Yonraththeblack prove it...

  • @tenaciousdane18 meh, I have no time to deal with cocky teenagers who have no life and would rather get futile with somebody who was only letting people know what's up...PLUS how the fuck am I gonna do that with NO webcam and NO mic until the end of the month??? go bother somebody else who is currently capable of embarrassing you...I will administer the coup de grace once I get my shit.

  • love this song!!!

  • canzone stupenda

  • Who really sang this?

  • @Caraphernalia343 Miljenko Matijevic

  • @Caraphernalia343 Steelheart ;)

  • AND WE ALLLLLL DIIIIIEEEEEE YOOOOUUNNNGGGGGGG

  • fed sang

  • i love you zakk !!!!

  • o.o

  • DO you mean to tell me that wasn't Mark Walberg AKA Marky Mark singing this? THE HELL YOU SAY!!!! rubish. that was him .... LET IT BE KNOWN. (insert Evil Laugh here)

  • jizzed

  • Listen people here is the low down... Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart sang all Mark's parts in the movie including the Hallelujah in the church. If you buy the sound track you will find that Jeff Scott Soto did 3 tracks, Stand Up, Living The Life, Wasted Generation (on the sound track) Mili did the rest of the Steel Dragon tunes (on the sound track). Steel Dragon Credits Zakk Wylde, Matijevic, Soto, Pilson, Bonham, Nick Catanese. I am a VERY reliable source so I hope that clears this up.

  • i wish this was a real band

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOO MMMMMMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if i remember correctly its actually mark wahlberg thats singing.

  • @ChrisGuitarded09 No it's not. It's Miljenko Matijevic from the band Steelheart.

  • @Crystasorrow Actually it is Mark Walberg singing at the beginning of the tryout in the movie. Then Miljenko did the good version and obviously the album version. :)

  • @mael1996 :/...I have no idea where you got that information but the voice is the same throughout the movie. I wish people would not get this so mixed up. Mark Wahlberg did sing at certain points but I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the tryout scene. Mark lip-synced well, but last I knew, what he truly did actually do was the part where he messed up the new song Reckless later in the movie. His Marky Mark persona came out then. I would know Miljenko's voice anywhere, it's not Mark's.

  • @Crystasorrow His voice is blended with several others throughout the whole movie...Mark Wahlberg sings every song, just not by himself.

  • @Crystasorrow Mark did not sing one song in the entire movie including the Hallelujah in the church scene. If Mark could sing like that do you actually think Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch would have ever happened? He wouldn't have been acting like a Rock Star he would have BEEN a Rock Star. Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart sang Mark's parts and Jeff Scott Soto also sang on the sound track. This particular song is a Steelheart original that had the arrangement changed a bit for the movie.

  • fucking awesome!

  • nice lightsaber :d

  • i wish this was a real band, bec they kick ass

  • @frak4baseball this movie was based on a real band called steel heart not steal dragon

  • @98bonjonjovi Actually, the movie is based on the real story of how Tim Owens, the lead singer of a Judas Priest tribute band got to take over for Rob Halford in the real Judas Priest. Steel Heart is the name of the band who played most of the "Steel Dragon" songs in the movie =)

  • @98bonjonjovi the movie was actually about when Rob Halford left Judas Priest. The whole thing about Bobby being gay is where that really is magnified. but the singer of steelheat did most of the vocal tracks in this movie along with Jeff Scott Soto.

  • @JoshtheGuitarist5150 It wasnt only about halford tho. It actually had some skid row references in there. Like the scene where they told chris that he doesnt write the songs he just plays him. That's what happened to sebastian bach from skid row and thats why he left

  • @HandRpuffin

Zakk Wylde - Black Label Society :)

  • Take alook at the guitarist in Steel Dragon, he looks familar.

  • This song is awesome!

  • dont forget zakk wylde was the lead guitarist for the movie and he obviously is the lead guitar in the recordings

  • I love the guitar solos in the middle and end of the song....

  • @Carleuu1 Sorry but its Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart singing!!!!! He did all the vocals for the movie Rockstar!!!

  • @maddawgm And Jeff Scott Soto

  • @HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 hey man, not to be a jerk or anything, but... do you have a life? i mean you commented on like 10 people.

  • @HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 Umm. Do you speak English? Or are you spamming caps-lock and using the keywords of an amateur posting of some metal fanboy's iTunes playlist?

  • @maddawgm actually he didnt do all of the vocals mark did do some of them...miljenko did most of them though

  • @killswitchoff No Mark didnt. hehe. He did not sing ONE song. I dont know why people think he did. And Yes Miljenko sang. He was Marks Voice. And Jeff Scott Soto ( ex: Yngwie Malmsteen and Journey ) just to name a few, Was the voice for Bobby Beers. The first Lead Singer in the movie. Mark did NOT sing. Not in the movie, nor in the soundtrack.

  • @killswitchoff mark didn't sing ONE song in that movie.

  • this song kicks ass.

  • Aural sex.

  • thumbs up and i'll sing this for my highschool senior talent show !! :D

  • @XXunloved752 you should do it, and then ask for thumbs up....

  • I love Steelheart, but I like this version better

  • I just love it :)

  • I love start my day with this song....

  • its not a fucking fake band!! its the orgiional singer singing it, its just remade and lip synced during the movie

  • I don't know if I should cry or smile... but dat's strange to have the proof that a fake band can do better than some real bands...

  • @MrAlsaco Nothing fake about it ,except for Marky Mark Wahlberg lip syncing,The movie director went for realism ,thats the real steel heart singer cranking out his song and most of the movie band are real players Zak Wylde (guitar ozzy) Jason Bonham (drums foreigner and Led Zep) and the bass player is from Dokken.

  • @midimanx21 ok, but when I said "fake" I mean not a real band, I didn't thought about fake musicians. I knew that real musicians were "used" (sorry for my english)

    whatever I liked your comment

  • @midimanx21 ok, but when I said "fake" I mean not a real band, I didn't thought about fake musicians. I knew that real musicians were "used" (sorry for my english)

    whatever I liked your comment

  • Greatest fake band ever!!! Fucking awesome!! \m/

  • @amandastar19 One of the Greatest Real/Fake bands beside Mettalica-Slipnot-Slayer

  • @kkman3800 Right on dude...!

  • @amandastar19 Ha this should be a supergroup for real. ha what is it Zakk Wylde with Jason Bonham, and sounds like the dude from Alter Bridge. this kicks ass

  • @amandastar19 and wat abou spinal tap?

  • Woooow, I only knew the Steelheart´s version, but this one is much better... is that Zakk Wylde at guitars?

  • @Xehen hell yeah it's Mr. Wylde on guitar

  • fucking amazing vocal capabilities

  • who is the original singer?

  • @petsetasWasted Michael Matijevic from steelheart , he is awesome /m/

  • Just watched this movie, and forgot how amazing the fake music is in it. Sad when it is 10 million times better than the real music today : /

  • @TheKeithCarnes The ironic part about it is that Mark Walberg (spelling) is a.k.a. "Marky Mark," one of the contributors to the newly found genre of music called "rap."

  • Amazing.

  • Sorry about the dislikes, it's my neighbours trying to sleep! :/

  • @Luykas fuck your neighbours move out of your ma's place already dickweed and meet real rockin rollers

  • @urface88888 OZZY RULES would like him to try to sing this song

  • oh my god dude it sounds like axle rose is singing this song when it says it turns my stomach turn

  • @TheManniefresh6 have you heard sebastian bach's voice??

  • oh my god dude it sounds liek axl rose is singing this song when it says it turns my stomach turn

  • @traserdh No. I was in the Destion area. Where were you?

  • for a band thats fake this band puts a lot of real bands to shame!

  • @frak4baseball

Ther name of the band from the movie was fake but the band that actually performed the songs was Steelheart.

  • @frak4baseball AGREED!

  • @frak4baseball ya definetly

  • @frak4baseball That's because it's Zakk Wylde playing.

  • @smokingbandit67 GUS G is close to what RANDY RHOADS SOUNDS LIKE

  • @HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 Nooooo man...really not! Randy Rhoads was sooooooo much better..Zakk Wylde is better as well...and Gus G just doesn't sound like Randy..maybe he's trying but its not working

  • @frak4baseball

It's not a fake band it's Steel Heart only that they changed the name to Steel Dragon in the movie

  • @frak4baseball this song was playing on the car radio when i had to say GOOD BYE SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE WHEN MY TIME COMES to my BEST CLOSE FRIEND/BROTHER so this song go out to my BROTHER MARK i miss you RESPECT AND MAY THE GODS BE WITH YOU AND BLESS YOUR SOUL RIP SARAULT BROTHERS FOR LIFE

  • I went on vacation to Florida and guess what came on the radio....THIS!!!!! It was the moment i decided i never wanted to leave, EVER!

  • @Thesmurfingsmurfer I never wanted to leave Florida from vacation... Did u go to the dolphin Mall?

  • this song is simply amazing

  • @melton187 Yeah its got that Hero song Quality eh?...from start to finish...its a Masterpiece...

  • love it

  • Not only was Steelheart an incredible band, they were at the end of the days of rock when grunge took over... what a great tune and what a great incredible singer Matijevic is... one of the best: Up there with Mercury, Halford and DeYoung....

  • @JoeyPNB i thought scott soto did his voice?

  • @DOOM666CREW Nope Jeff Scott Soto did the vocals for the singer before Mark Wahlberg's character in the movie. Once his character is in the band, the vocals come from Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart. Miljenko does this song, Blood Pollution, Long Live Rock & Roll, the movie version of Reckless, and certain points where Mark Wahlberg's character sings including the concert and audition scenes.

  • 38 people are obviously ghey. Come on - I mean Jesus - this is badass!!!

  • i don't know what it is about this song but every time i listen to it i get chills on the back of my neck, i guess it is just so badass, lol

  • @melton187 That's because this song was written about a real life event that happened to the singer of the 80's metal band Steelheart Miljenko(Michael) Matijevic. The tradgedy that unfolded in in Denver Colorado while opening for Slaughter at the McNichols arena when Mili climbed up on some stage light rigging while playing and the whole thing came down and nearly crushed him to death. He wrote this song during his long recovery from that incident, the song is off the Wait album!

  • rock star is rock star

  • 38 people die old

  • where I can download this song

  • Genious better than all modern shit about nowadays!!!

  • like this if you'd sell you soul for that voice

  • why does it sound so different from in the movie???

  • In fact this version of We all die Young was covered by Jeff Pilson, Zakk Wylde, Jason Bonham, and on vocals Jeff Scott Soto (singing voice for Jason Flemyng) and Miljenko Matjevic (singing voice for Whalberg).

  • LOL never mind, its steel heart, thanks hahaha

  • CAN ANTONE TELL ME WHO ACTUALLY RECORDED THOSES SONGS FOR THE MOVIE AND SOUNDTRACK? PLEASE :)

  • @gillmengreen i have been looking for it for a long time. i went on itunes and its said "album only" which was the soundtrack. then i looked up the song by steelheart but it was a screwed up version.

  • @gillmengreen The vocals for this badass song and for Mark's character "Izzy Cole" were done by the legendary singer from 80"s metal band Steelheart Miljenko Matijevic and Jeff Scott Soto does "stand up and shout" and vocals for "Bobby's" character. This song is about his long recovery from the tradgedy that took place in Denver Colorado when they were opening for Slaughter on Halloween night at the McNichols arena. Look it up on Wikipedia and read the whole story! AND FUCKIN' CRANK IT BITCH!!!

  • @Gilbertage2007 you for got the word UP lol

  • it is a real band..its jus kalled SteelHeart In Real life

  • MILI Miljenko Matijevic lead vocal for Steel heart the best is the one who are sing this song

  • MILI Miljenko Matijevic lead vocal for Steel heart the best

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you

  • I know Sammy hager did some work in the movie.great song

  • Is Soto singing?

  • @drakonimetal Nope, it's Miljenko Matijevic from the band Steelheart. Soto did do some vocals for the vocalist that was in the band before Mark Wahlberg's character though. Miljenko is one of the greatest vocalists in rock in my opinion, very underrated. His work in the 80s/early 90s especially was fantastic. I recommend songs like Sheila, Electric Love Child, Dancin In The Fire, She's Gone, Late For The Party, Everybody Loves Eileen, and such from Steelheart.

  • @drakonimetal soto is singing stand out and shout

  • This Band did exist, they are Called Steel Heart, Lead singer Miljenko Matijevic (mike) of steelheart did all the Vocals for Steel Dragon

  • @jasonlambert2002 yeeesss. Thank you!

they're coming to my hometown, I'm so excited!!

  • this song is really cool!! .... AWESOME SONG WRITING !!!

  • why would someone dislike this song?

  • this song buries half the shit out there today!

  • @dummer690 HALF?

  • like it...

  • me gusta mucho esta cancion

  • @burnsbowman507

No Mark Whalberg did not sing in Rocks star, he only lip synched, but he did an amazing job and i understand why you would think he sang ^^

  • @9sunlotionisgay9 Imagine my disappointment. :/

  • @9sunlotionisgay9 true for the soundtrack. but in the movie they mixed his voice into most songs to let it sound not so far from his own voice...

  • I love the sound of the bass guitar in this song

  • Steel Heart was the band that did this song and a few others from the movie. his song was sung by the original singer from steel heart for the movie. Other songs in the movie were done by Zack Wylde who did the guitar for this song.

  • is mark wahlberg the actual voice for this song??

  • @burnsbowman507 No, Steel Heart did some of the songs.

  • @1REDDAWN13 cool thanks

  • @burnsbowman507 The singer of Steelheart sung the version in the movie also.

  • A lot of movies that base around 'fake-bands' this is one of the ones that I believe could have existed.

  • This is a great F'n song! from a great movie, Markie Mark does it again!
