Was this exaggerated to show up better on camera? A sharpie marker would have looked better, and you really needed to use a pilot pen(or a makeup applicator equally fine if you don't want ink on your face) and embellish it afterward with a red infected area.

Couldn't you just use some scar wax form a crevice and then use dental floss or a pin to run the stiches across the wac then darken with paint or makeup?

Some zombies start out as bite victims and they most often receive some form of medical care before turning. The stitched zombies you see are early turners. They were infected prior to the living's understanding of what was happening and were treated as usual.

Hmm the effects ok but for better effects its better to use soft modelling wax to make a scar, then add your makeup. Good effect witpainting if your on a loer budget tho :)
