@boi9031 a mega tsunami can easily be 50 meter, or taller. The wave shown in "The Day after tommorow" isn't a tsunami, but is a tidal wave. In the 1960's a mega tsunami in Alaska was reported to be aprox 560 meters tall.

this isn't a tsunami

a tsunami is a wave, caused of an earthquake in the ocean.

first its 100-200km long and half a meter high and 900km/h fast. at the coast, it will loose speed and length and grow up to 30m, but it will break at the coast. tsu (harbour),nami (wave) ->you can see it, when it comes near the coast. not before.

the wave in this video is caused because of the melting arktis/antarktis -> no tsunami

These 'environmental' catastrophe ideas are insane... Anything in the Atlantic that could cause an east coast tsunami so big it could sweep 4 or 500 miles inland would so shake the Earth's crust that most of New York would first have been flattened by the shockwave or quake.

Maybe a ten kilometer wide meteor, or a Yosemite sized volcanic convulsion. There is no way anything to do with melting ice caps or glacier break ups could do it.
