Yes I consider it a recreation, but understand your question. I did not want to recreate the eye slicing scene. I wanted to recreate the silent movie style for a class, but ran out of time before I recreate more.

oh nice. i'm studying film also. i don't even know how they did that scene anyway so to recreate it would be pretty dificult. maybe a dead person? probably not.
