@ThePantherchuk - you can't see it in the video, but there is metal lathe (mesh) covering the entire areas where the stone is placed. I don't thnk the stone could hold its own weight without it :)
HI, I really like the design of your fireplace. I would like to know if you could tell me the measurements of it - from wall to wall, height, and size of firebox. Great job............ Looks Awesome!!
Thanks - I'm not sure exactly what you mean "Fire harth remote control" - Most fireplaces have two options: wall switch (free - internal wiring) or remote control (about $150). You install a receiver to the internal wiring of the fireplace that comes with the remote.
No, not with this style of stone. You try to get each piece as close as you can. A big thing, common mistake, is people don't completely cover the metal latch behind the stone and you see shiny metal behind the stone. Also, I highly recommend using thin-set above mortar for setting the stone!!!
good job, man!

It looked like no cement board or scratch coatw/mesh was used, I wonder now, two years later if and how many stones have fallen off.

Thank you. The Hearth is 12" tall and 7' wide. The top fireplace surround is about 4' tall and 5' wide. The entire height is just under 5'.

Do you need to fill the voids with mortar or grout?
