He also said that cars and transportation today cause 25% of the CO2 emissions of the whole world, which is incorrect. Cars cause 25% of the emissions caused by human action, which in turn is about 5% of all CO2 emissions in the world.

No matter how great the technology or the product in the end it all comes down to price (cost) because unless you can get these new technology vehicles down to at least the $20k range the average little guy wont be able to buy it. They have to get the unit cost down or its all for naught. I wish them much luck though. I hope it happens!

I don't see many paying, basically double, for a new car conversion. Electric cars are my favorite of all ideas on the table, but only if the energy is coming from a wind or solar farm, or a tidal generator, or any other kind of non-polluting electrical power plants. Where I live we have hydro power from the dams around us, but if we were burning coal for electricity I'd say we'd have to change that before going to electric cars. Without clean forms of electricity there is no point whatsoever.

I would immediately buy a electric car. Eletric engines are much better than combustion engines.

Electric engines offer a much better speedup, they are faster, more quiet and they have a much better efficiency.

The only problem is the thing with the batteries ....

What I enjoy about this whole paradigm shift is that soon, enough technology will have seeped into our culture to the point where anyone will be able to make a car in their own garage. There aren't as many moving parts in electric cars. Think about it, craft a body, weld a frame, dump in a motor, some lights and paint, etc.. Although simplistic, you see the point. This should freak out the government and big business which will collaborate to make the practice illegal. Go small Business!

I'm hoping a safer environmental way ! My Grandmother bought a 1995 Presidential Citation, her mechanic he owns place millionaire. Known him yrs, never believed he sell her a death trap. Two wks later brakes went ,her$200 r side then master cylinoid $190-head gasket $450-water pump $140- , he told his guy catalytic converter ok put metal on top hollowed out.Car won't pass inspection rejected. Rotted brakes,rotors,frame .shocks,car sat for yrs. His shop is only for personal use not public.
