Verdon gave a legendary performance on Bway, and the chief pleasure of the film is seeing her recreate her numbers. Half the joke is that she was not conventionally irresistible -- but she could move as if she had extra bones and the pleasure she got in performing was extraordinary. Remick was a great actress and one of a generation of beauties who were also palpably brilliant. Too bad the production added gratuitous cute effects and didn't let us just watch her.
... Are you joking? Gwen Verdon was wonderful in the role. I thought she looked a little old, but her fantastic voice, acting, and dance shined right through her age. I could watch her performance 100 times and still love it. This woman... Sure she may look the part a little more, but I don't think she's any better than Miss Verdon (Who btw originated the role on stage AND in film)
My GOSH! Lee Remick is amazing!,, Darn! Where was I when this aired in 67? -- I most have been watching 'Get Smart' or 'I Dream of Jeanie' --- This is great!
The Python-esque animations make for an unusual substitute for choreography... Is that technique used throughout that particular television production?

Ok, she's about 1,000 times better than Gwen Verdon who was pitifully miscast in the Ray Walston movie.

Very peculiar. Lee is surprisingly good, though.

Those cutaways to Silvers are odd and unnecessary. Including him in an occasional two-shot would have been better.

Best hair, best eyes in the biz. And a nice figure and a cute nose to boot.
And she sings pretty darn good.

"Yale Regatta"
That's the first time I understood what the words were in that part of the song.
