  • I love David Gray -- and wish he was coming to Detroit. I've seen him in concert 4 times - and he puts on an amazing show! He's my fave singer / songwriter!

  • I am a bit ashamed to say i never heard of david gray before, not untill tonight.

Maybe that's because i'm from holland.

I have been watching all of his videos all night over and over again and in these few hours i've become a big fan of david gray, just mention this song.. I am really stunned by his voice but even more the way he uses his voice.. but not only in this song he amazes me.. every song of him is breathtaking..

In my eyes the second phill collins.

    Btw, dont mention my english

  • way better than phil collins. good to see you finally found him tho

  • Could also be that he means the french enfant = Child but that would be a bit strange in the context

  • If you see the original video for Alibi it would make sense - this is a song about a drug addicted girl who ends up ruining her life because of drugs and it's sung from the perspective of the desperate parent, so Friday night "enfant" does mean child, probably a reference for the day the child was born.

  • @TNTHUNTER1545 I believe David is referring to a Jungian concept of consciousness, translated…"where'd it all go wrong, my Friday night unconscious…in other words, how did I get to this state of being so numbed from all the pain.

  • @chris092572 …and this numbing relates back to what was said about the original video, from sonicelectronix, that is, a girl who doesn't know where to turn in the face of so much, turning to drugs for an answer to dull the pain, and wanting to take care of her child (which is also enfante, translated in english infant or child)

  • Good man Clune!

  • I don't like the text balloons, too bad you did that..

  • You can turn those off

  • what an ungratefull cunt you are.

  • Thought he was saying... my friday nite of fun...Better understanding of song ...THANKS

  • Amazing he seems to sing on an inhale rather than exhale

  • Excellent song, excellent video. Thanks

  • think he is referring to enfant as "baby", like "my babe"

  • what does he mean by "my friday night enfant/infant?"

  • Yeah, brilliant man. Great songwriter. My fave has to be This Years Love, Late Night Radio or White Ladder I reckon. Just wish he'd stop doing that head thing though, looks a bit stupid when he does that. Thom Yorke from Radiohead does it, but he pulls it off.

  • one day his head will fall off tho

  • Always thought they should sell David Gray bobble heads.

  • lol, I agree !

  • Thanks David Gary, Many Thanks!!! Just a cracking song.

  • Great song

  • stone blind alibi, I will eat the LIE.

  • Thank you - corrected.

  • How I long to (Burn) every hand.

  • Stone blind alibi... I will eat the (lie).

  • you missed to correct the LIE part when it's repeated towards the end of the song. thanks.

  • If Julian Sims reads this, I want him to know he is the most important person in my life and means more than the world to me. I am so glad we met, you have enriched my life in so many ways. You are my soul mate and the love of my life. I will always be here for you, no matter what our differences are. I only hope that one day you allow me to give you the thing you want most in the world. My one true love. Love you always honey k xxx xxx xxx
