  • I know what i am handling. This definitely not stuff to mess with. I have even permanganates can catalyse its rapid decomposition. Nothing like detonation or even deflagration but i don't want to try this. Thats why i only mix flash powder, explosives etc about a minute prior to usage. Silver acetylide? Thats a different story (holly crap)

  • Alright i have a chemistry question. I was reading a thing on the net and it called for 1 part acetone 1 part hydrogen peroxide 3% 1 part bleach. I see all this stuff about acetone peroxide and it scares the crap out of me. so I figured i would ask the pro's before i blow my hands off. Is this a safe mixture?

  • @ghbghg

Stay far and clear from any peroxides, especially HMTD, AP, and MEKP. These three combined cause more lost fingers, hands, and eye vision than any other explosives. Kids who mix AP or MEKP with AN(ammonium nitrate) to make APAN in 20g+ quantities, usually never live to tell their bad experiences.

    Research silver acetylide.

  • @dawson01912 HMTD and MEKP are great. Much more stable than AP. They are a lot safer and not nearly as expensive as silver acetylide. With the silver acetylide, you deal with silver nitrate, which stains everything, and acetylene gas, which is ridiculously dangerous, if you have a leak.
