  • No. 19 suugests a title of Nocturne or nice piece, very lyrical and romantic. No. 12 is avery lovely and tender salon piece. I love this composer as well as your playing.

  • @MrEbaby2010 Thank you for that!

  • Etude 19 sounds a lot like the piano opening of Alkan's first camera concerto

...Who influenced who in that regard?

  • I can't find the date the Etude Harmonieuses were written but going by opus numbers alone, Alkan's Op.10 against Ravina's Op.50 and tha fact that Alkan was 5 years older I'd say the Concerto de Camera was first by some distance.

  • apparently alkan performed the concerto da camera when he was 18, so that would mean ravina would have had to compose his 19th etude by age 13 :)

  • I suspect Deviantrake is right, although I doubt if the Alkan would have been widely known.

  • Très beau..C'est bien de ressortir tout cela! Au xix siècle la "ravinomania" a réellement existé!On comprend pourquoi!

  • Merci pour votre commentaire gentil. Si la musique de Ravina était si populaire alors, je suis sûr que cela pourrait être populaire maintenant s'il a été joué plus fréquemment!

  • tres beau!!

  • Merci beaucoup!

  • Your tone that comes across is so warm, lovely pedal work.

  • Thanks - I have to say I think the recording process takes a bit of the edge off. The sound would be brighter heard live.

  • I sent but you didn't get it. I'll try again: He has beautiful harmonic-turns. Nos. 16 and 19 are especially beautiful. Thanks for uploading.

  • My pleasure!
