  • DILDO LOL

  • now other people on the other hand is something a handgun may come in very handy with. And I know it is also a great sense of security.

  • Yes there are bears in the woods, not sure what you think that Block is going to do to one aside from piss it off. I carry a side arm every now and then but have found that sprey and a bear bell works better. My dog usualy scares anything away. I am not saying to not bring a gun, I carry one for a living. However I would think of that as a last resort for dealing with bears.

  • What is the electrolyte drink mix buddy?

  • Comment removed

  • @Lusotrek You must enjoy being bear feces. It's not uncommon to see grizzly, black bear or brown bear. I would say on 60% of my backpacking trips I'll see one to five bears. If you are ignorant of the wildlife in America, I suggest you learn or keep your mouth shut.

  • @Lusotrek Hell yes, NOT carrying a gun is ignorant. There is no reason you shouldn't carry a gun anytime you go in to the wilderness. Or in to town for that matter.

This mentality is the reason all you other countries always call us to take you back when you have a problem.

  • Thanks for sharing, interesting pack setup. Take care

  • Part 3. Drop the chair. No foot print, your tent floor will handle 3 nights. repackage that tent. Bring knife, drop that saw. Map good. Compass no good unless u know how to triangulate, so learn. No extra flashlight. no extra straps. Your med kit is outragously huge, repackage, and consolidate, get this down in weight. no cold pack. No shower. Use little disposable packages, not huge containers for products. Good luck , have fun. Evaluate your gear when u come home, next time dont take crap.

  • Part 2....no MRE stuff, to heavy. Dont bring more food than u need. Pocket Rocket OK. Dont bring extra fuel. Bring less food you absolutely need tocook, more snack food. No extra batteries, replace with new before you go. No extra mag for the gun. You wont need it anywy. I know...I carry tooo, on solo trip. Never needed it.

  • @drazzeldew1 Fair assessments. We split up our stuff into two-man teams so only one guy carried certain items, like stove/fuel for example. Since I'm the bigger guy, that was me doing the carrying, so things that are redundant like water filters, stoves, med kit were only carried by half of us. One guy's headlamp clicked on in his back, drained his batteries, glad we had spares. Didn't need the extra mag, but I wish I had more ways of carrying water, we ran out in the scree

  • Part 1....You asked for a critic...Its all about doing it and learning. Good luck, have a great trip. Here is my advice.....Your too heavy, in the least repackage stuff for a 4 day stint. Repackage powder, cut med kit by 75%, you wont need it. repackage mountain house into Glad steamer bags. ( superglue little steam outlet holes.) Drop the extra flashlight, camp shoes. Water filter is overkill. Consider smaller, or sharing. Maybe a Sawyer 3 way into your bladder, or just chems. cont.

  • DILDO WHEN IT GETS LONLEY AT NIGHT.

  • Anything to say about the bivy? had the cheaper version and didn't like it.

  • @awwyeahRamin I have no problems with the Outdoor Research Alpine bivy, with the exception of the tent pole thing sometimes doesn't always stay up. But I've used it as it's own tent in the summer, or in a snow cave in the winter. I would buy it again. I should make a video of my preferred sleeping set up. The truth is, I have three sleeping pads and use them for different environments.

  • Wow that's a lot of stuff. Good video though, you have some great gear

  • DILDO!! BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • What is your aprox. base weight? Nice gear, looks expensive! I noticed your filter, is that the one that is good up to 1 million gallons and costs like $350? Thanks for the awesome video and happy trails!

  • @CDoggsRandoms I picked up the water filter for $250 on sale. Total weight with all gear, water, food, gun is 45lbs. Each trip is a little different. I just got back from snow cave camping on Mount Rainier today, so the winter gear is much more heavy. I'll post a video of the trip in the next few days. Thanks for watching.

  • 7 miles a day isnt very much not trying to offend you or anything but im 14 and when i go hiking and camping nearly every weekend i do about 20 miles a day atleast(uo hill)

  • @TheBlairuk It wasn't so much the distance for this hike, but the elevation changes were constant in the high elevation of the Tetons. The hike started at 10,200 ft and one guy got altitude sickness by the first day. I need to post a video of that hike.

  • @YokoWenis oh right sorry about that comment i was just saying and you should put that up it will be intresting to see how you did:)

  • lol nice, hard to find ammo unless you go to an actual gun store, even if you find some its still expensive as hell

  • 10mm norma is a nice choice, if you use it with out earplugs you might go deaf though

  • @Jaredlovesguns Now that I've found some, I've upgraded to 220gr Buffalo Bore in 10mm. That round is a beast

  • Very nice video, I am a big back country back packer, I spend up to 6 days at a time in the mountains of Colorado. I have to say with the amount of gear you have i would be tired from lugging so much extra stuff. With you having a bum knee it would help you out, every pound you carry is more strain and more calories your blowing through. , also keep all your fire stuff seperated, you had it all in one bag. Bics are cheap and if they get wet and can be dried in a minute or two. Happy Survival.

  • Hahaha! " Don't gimme crap about my Serpa..." no way Dude! I like em myself. I carry a Springfield, and never had a problem..

  • Can you give me a link or a name on that chair? Does it pack down really nice in your pack?

  • @whiteflamemusic It's called a Therm-a-Rest Trekker Lounge Chair, but they are specific to the size of your pad. REI sells them, I'm sure others as well.

  • @whiteflamemusic It has stiff sticks for the top and bottom of the chair, like tent poles so they can't be bent, but otherwise it's pretty packable. The weight/space is worth the comfort

  • @YokoWenis had one like that and it snapped on the side pole. I do pack pretty heavy(70-100 Lbs) and have my water, camera, knife, and bear spray on my lattice strap can i trust this not to snap in the middle of my pack?

  • @whiteflamemusic I wedge it in the inside corner of my pack along my back, which should stay pretty straight. When using it, I don't think the poles are the limiting factor for breaking. I'm 6'5", 230lbs and I would think the buckles would give out before the poles would.

  • So you use to be a great hiker until you took an arrow to the knee xD ? just kidding, great vid !

  • Sorry to be 'that guy', but look into lightening your load with the techniques used by the ultralight hikers that have many videos here on youtube. For instance, using regular water bottles instead of nalgenes will save a couple ounces. Additionally, leaving behind the gun (or carrying subcompact) can save you over a pound. I know I over packed on food on my 5-day trip, and I'm interested to know if you feel like you brought too much. This could definitely help with your knee injury as well.

  • @eatsleepbike I tend to bring an extra days worth of food on purpose in case I'm stuck out there, which actually happened this last trip. One of the guys busted both knees so it took much longer to get out. What we tend to do is split up some gear between pairs of guys so we're not bringing redundant things, like a stove, but still have a back up because another pair of guys still have one. I'm not actually carrying everything per say, but it's all there. I could carry a G29 but I own a G20

  • @YokoWenis Well the thing about backpacking is, its just like life. The more we can get out and actually experience it, the more knowledge we gain and we figure out what works and doesn't work for ourselves. You sound like you have a system built around your experiences and that it works for you. That's what its all about.

  • i have been looken at some of the SURVIVAL DRINKING WATER PURIFICATION STRAWS that r good for 5 gallon use just o have on hand n then some thta are like $10 that are to last 9mnths or longer for a gallon a day

  • Good stuff bro... enjoy yourself!

  • WooHoo..go Cougs!!! Looks like you have about everything a person might need. Take care and be safe.

  • Stoked for you, sounds like a great trip. Make sure you don't use to close of a windscreen with the Soto ( I fried my ignitor) Interested to see how the OR bivy and Eddie Bauer jacket work for you. All in all a nice setup enjoy. Oh yeah bad knee, get some trekking poles.

  • @SixtyAteOutdoors The trekking poles, flask and some clothes didn't make it in the video. I've used almost all of this gear already, so the jacket and bivy are solid.

  • never hurts to carry a good fixed blade knife!

  • @snowsniper8 I was debating on taking my Cold Steel Trailmaster, the replacement one to see if I can break it again. If you haven't seen it, reference my old video on it.

  • Looks like you have the gear sorted out pretty well. You are going to carry just one knife-lol What does you kit weigh?

  • @MrM2hb I'm sitting around 40lbs minus water and gun

  • @YokoWenis Correction: 60lbs fully loaded water, gun, clothes, spare brick and more food. FML

  • let us know how the electrolite drink mix works out for you. im interested in trying it. i always take to much food. oooooo i like that pot. where did you get the gun holster i want one. i carry a 9mm dont see why it matters much. dildo lmao. really though wife would love the light dome. i carry foot powder too. i have same shower its great. seems like you got it all covered well. ive been wanted that down jacket for awhile. good luck on the trip. never been there please post vids of trip.

  • @FixedByDoc I was trying out a few different electrolyte mixes so I'll let ya know. You can pick up a serpa anywhere but I don't recommend them. I'll shoot plenty of vids up there. Thanks for watching

  • The Tetons are awesome!
