Through science and technology—telescope for instance—we know that the moon REFLECTS light off its surface. Light that originates from the sun. ON-THE-CONTRARY, Romans 8:14 is making a CLEAR distinction on who IS a son of God & who is NOT! St. Paul claims we Christians believers have RECEIVED the Holy Spirit. It has been given to us by believing in Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior. Christ places His Spirit in us. See Acts 2:37-39; John 7:38-39; Mat 3:11; Luke 24:49; Luke 11:9-13.
So you see, Son of God is more than just a term—and so is the Holy Spirit. ~ 1 Cor. 12:3

@TheAli570 Finally—for now on this subject—1 John 3:1 says, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."
The Holy Spirit in us Christians makes us sons of God. It's also our SEAL that we BELONG to God. Scripture says in Eph. 4:30, "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

the quran is not contradicting itself. The Angels told Merry about Jesus and she was not surprised, because they didn't tell her that it is now. She was expecting to become the woman of the coming Prophet.
