In my opinion, No it would not matter, why didn't anyone bring up Clay Aiken? He seemed to do just fine and he's gay as hell. All pts agreed. I wasn't an Adam Lambert fan until his "Tracks of My Tears" performance. But I still liked Allison more and was rooting for her. Adam had me sold when he (and apparently with 'some' help from Simon) performed U2 - One. Very good vocals with wide range of notes that he can hit.
I do think his sexuality effected the outcome. I don't think he lost any fans, but it triggered Kris Allen fans to devote even more to voting for Kris Allen.

Hey Balla...thanks for chiming in and good observation... yes i also think he did perform ONE beautifully.. i heard that the kids were in charge of setting up their whole arrangements, (e.g.) what kind of lights do they want, backdrop etc etc..I LOVED ALLISON.. she was amazing.. as for Kris winning.. here goes that run down...(good call by the way) AT&T admitted that they went to Conway where Kris is from, handed out Phones to thousands and taught them how to hyper text votes for Kris.. :(

so in a way it was pretty disheartening to learn that a corporation would act so deplorably... and personally, here is my thinking...as we all saw, adam was heavily favored..in that moment when Danny Gokey was standing side by side to Adam to see who would move on, if my danny lost to Adam, i'd want ADAM to bear Kris, that way i can say that MY guy was beat out by the number one person... rather, all the Danny votes went to Kris and they truly made danny look 3rd.. oh well, fun year anyway :)

I didn't know about the AT&T incident. That is definitely sad to hear. I did hear about how Danny Gokey's fan going over to Kris Allen after he lost, as both of them are part of a Christian community/church. But Kris, Adam, and Allison were all very close friend during the competition I heard. And they're all signed with the same recording studio (19). Kris and Allison's will be licensed to Jive, whereas Adam's will be licensed to RCA.
I'm just happy for them they all made it.

Well technically Adam ended up in the Final Two, so although he didn't win, he managed to get that far with his sexuality which already proves that many many people still voted for him and that his sexuality didn't really affect that much of hatred or disapproval otherwise he wouldn't have made it that far.
