This is mainly because the Romanians were consuming like crazy in the past few years, mostly financed by credits given by banks who did not ask a lot of questions how to pay the money back to them. Payday is comming faster than most thought, and the party in RO is over for a while. Prices for Real Estates are going back to the 1999 level soon, and the real RO economy is without substance. Most products you can buy are imported goods paid in Euro. This is very very dangerous for the people in RO.

This loan is to restore investors and banks confidence, the public debt is very low, one of the lowest in Europe, and covered by the 27 billion euro reserve of the Central Bank, Economy will grow by around 1-2% this year, maybe more.
