  • I don't know why people are bitching about the vid poster for rightly saying that a lot of people are uncreative. It's a true fact. Being humble is one thing, but pretending that things are not as they are just so your inferiors don't feel uncomfortable is something that works against humanity's progress as a whole. Shame on you people and your pathetically small egos. It is not the fault of a video poster on youtube that you never grew up.

  • loooooooool u wrote an essay for this~~~~~~

  • autism

  • I am glad there are videos about terraria design, You have done a wonderful job as well.

  • its like your commentating on a news report or something, its just a game phwoar. -_-

  • Genius. I am impressed and baffled by how creative one could get in Terraria.

  • Hi, first let me just say that your an amazing builder, but I have a few questions.

    1) What, go you find, is the quickest way to get your resources?

    2) Do you plan your work; or just let it grow?

    3) Have you ever seen Dan021? What do you make of his work, considering that he flattens and shapes the land him self?

    4) Would it ever be possible for you and Dan021 to do a co-op commentary?

    5) Do you ever get bored with the building or do you just enjoy it? Any response would be great. Thank you!

  • @DrunkenWierdo

    1) I just gather my resources naturally. I find that it gives me a break from building and time for my ideas to settle in.

    2) A little of both. I generally get an idea or two that I want to work with and the rest grows out of that.

    3) I've not seen his work. I'll have to look into it.

    4) Probably not. I've gone through the majority of what I wanted to accomplish with my Terraria videos now and my interests are turning to other games.

    Continued...

  • @WillieTannerBuilds

4)...I will probably still do more Terraria videos, but they will be shorter and possibly less often. At least until there is another major content update.

    5) Like everything else my interest grows and wanes. Luckily when it comes to building all it takes is another good idea to become interested again.

    Thanks for watching!

  • @WillieTannerBuilds No, thank-YOU for replying so efficiently.

  • you know you are too smart :D

  • Задрот

  • *drinks brandy* Myes. Go on.

  • uhh O.O

  • I couldn't stop looking at the bunny that was stuck in your treehouse.

  • Supergeek!

  • @vakzter gtfo

  • Thanks for the video! my house is just a boring rectangle.... but this will help me when i build my second house.

  • Too much time, and too much smoke up your ass, bud.

  • I... made my house out of dirt T_T

  • You sound like a really pretentious douchebag.

  • i made a wooden house

  • :yuno: have a trophy for this yet!

  • 8 people are NOT creative

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge of design and art, watching this series is a pleasure ^_^

  • Architectural structures that are sharply off-scale from the character's 3-block height have always made me grind my teeth, but that bell tower of yours is really elegant. My eyes were stuck on the asymmetry in the bell itself -- nicely done!

  • @baphnie Thanks, as I've played around more and expanded what I've tried to accomplish with my designs I've been trying to do more with perspective and blended scale. There are definitely some interesting things you can do.

  • This has inspired me to continue making interesting creations in Terraria. I love to decorate my houses, using symmetry and furniture to create specific rooms, and additional lighting effects to change the moods of the areas, but I have only done a little bit with different sorts of bricks, nothing with removing background tiles, and still only very little in making very large designs. My most intricate piece is probably my Fortress, which is small in comparison even to your tower. Great video!

  • @Alargator Hah. After reviewing some of the biomes I've created, I realized I HAVE used removing back tiles. I feel silly now.

  • @Alargator Thanks for the comments, glad you enjoyed the video. It's always good to hear that someone has been inspired by anything I've uploaded. That was one of the main reasons I've done these videos. To, hopefully, share some of the processes I've gone through to expand my creative techniques so that viewers can come up with something in their own worlds that they may not have otherwise.

  • I was initially impressed but then the creator started to come off as conceited. It's kind of a ridiculous amount of work for someone to do then to just talk about how much everyone elses designs that use things like furniture basically suck. The video could of went by without mentioning how uncreative/bad many peoples houses are. Focus on your stuff, don't make other people feel uncreative.

So sorry I didn't waste copious amounts of time with my Treehouse I thought was pretty awesome.

  • @Dan55888 I disagree with your entire perspective. The opinions and elements discussed in W.Tanner's vid are presented in an informative light without any negative attitude. If your creations feel less than what they could be, focus on the lessons given here instead of any semblance of ego tied to your Treehouse.

Certainly, your Treehouse is probably awesome in its own way, yet it would be a shame for you to cut of the possibility of doing more because you cannot get passed spoken truth.

  • @JoshReflek now you are the arrogant one. You talk about my ego while you prattle on about "the spoken truth", the truth is that this guy spends an absurd amount on these creations and shouldn't belittle people because designs in an overall game arn't as time consumingly artful as his creations.

I stand firm on the stance that the video would have been much better if he focused on his designs instead of belittling others with how everyone else is lazy if they don't make creations his way.

  • @Dan55888 By all means, feel free to point out where in my videos I belittle anyone for being lazy.

  • I wish I could be this creative...

  • @KitsuneWarrior17 Creativity is entirely subjective. =) The most important thing is to keep trying new ideas and playing around with new things to see what works and what doesn't. That's the great thing about games like these. It's unbelievably rewarding to see something you've made and to think that but for a simple discovery you've made or a small piece of inspiration you had gotten you wouldn't have been able to have done that.

  • is there a mod that can give you stuff in-game in single player? cuz id LOVE to build in Terraria but i dont want to get EVERYTHING by myself.....

  • Thumbs up if you clicked on this because the thumb-nail looked 3D.

  • TD;DR version: Derp derp you suck I rock.

  • GREAT video man! i don't see many people who value the artistic aspect of games anymore :( your creations are one thing, but it's the mind behind it and the effort and all the ideas floating in the air and oppertunities that you manage to project so well that really gets me :) I really hope you get to influence the whole world with your values in one way or another at one point in life, WillieTannerBuilds!

Again, great video, thanks for a good upload!

    Cheers from Norway ~

  • @TheMetalViking666 Thanks for the comment. It's good to see that people are actually able to get some inspiration from these videos.

  • Look at that vergin go !

  • @pr0nman1 If you're going to insult someone, at least spell the word right.

  • Comment removed

  • Going to make an awesome mansion now.

  • @njstretton3328 Nice!

  • Anyone else see a wave at 4:29?

  • @WhuttheHell67 i saw it! what is that? never seen it :S

  • @WhuttheHell67 Probably an editing cut I did. It's been so long since I did this video I'm not 100% sure. =D

  • That is pretty cool

Are u an architect in real life? or maybe a animation designer?

  • @RakeBone Nope. Just someone that loves games and loves design theory.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Ugh! Thanks for the comments everyone. Apparently Youtube hasn't felt like notifying me of comments I've been getting for the last few weeks.

  • i feel inspired i have to go make something amazing.

  • @FPSviet Awesome! Glad you got something out of these.

  • @WillieTannerBuilds yeah i had this idea of a floating city with a steam punk feel thats just massive with old city ruins below it

  • you uploaded a video about making art in a 2d game of blocks.... where's your dignity willie? get a life!

  • Geneus man awsome builds!!

  • GEE-ZUS!! Those buildings are so awesome!

  • Awesome D:

  • I used to make shit houses, and then i watched this guy.

Sorry, no skyrim joke for now :3

  • gotta say the treehouse has too much clashing information, sometimes the best designs are the simplest, when it turned night however ,the contrast was good, I would suggest removing some of the dirt or wood to make a cleaner cut

  • only one word can describee how good this video was. and that word is

    ..

    .. TWTMFAMFPOSVTIHEFSATYSMTAS ..

    ..

    ..

"THAT WAS THE MOST FUCN AWESOMEST MOTHER FUCN PIECE OF SHIT VIDEO THAT I HAVE EVER FUCN SEEN AND THAT YOU SHOULD MAKE THAT A SERVER"

  • For how well you make this series, it seems like it would get more views, guess most people just aren't really into building.

These tutorials do help with people like me, who built but have more trouble with certain aspects of building, "the rules" you teach do help a whole lot to those who listen.

  • Great video! Do you have a downloadable world or more screenshots of buildings?

  • @posztoka Sorry, I'm not offering my worlds for download as I feel it would go against one of the reasons I started these videos. That being to give other players the knowledge and ideas to make thier own cool stuff.

  • @95LutherL He does sound like an architect. He does sound like at the very least an artist, and I like his buildings.

  • @rrhdfg Not an architect. Artist is arguable. I have been artistically trained, but at present I'm an out of work researcher with time on my hands.

  • @WillieTannerBuilds Sorry to hear you are out of work

  • @rrhdfg You'll have that sometimes. It affords me the time to have a lot of fun with Terraria and other games for the moment. =)

  • Nice work!
