@Migs4000 even if it has rifling the 410 buck shot has only three pellets in one shell and they come out in a straight line so you could still use it with the rifling

I think people have an unfair prejudice against the 410 chambering. In truth it can be devestatingly effective on soft targets. Accuracy becomes a less specific problem with the little shotshell and risk of overpenetration is pretty minimal. To me, it is an excellent choice for close range defense. More important than what you carry is how you carry though. More animals and men alike have fallen to the puny .22 LR. The key is being responsible for yourself - in every sense of the phrase.

D33Lux, my wife and visited Ontario this Summer and the first thing the customs agent asked was after seeing we were from Texas was, " Did you bring your firearms?" D33Lux, Canada is a gorgeous country, the folks are very nice, but here in Texas we get to have a CHL. @D33Lux As a matter of fact, handguns are not banned in Canada. Theyre classified as restricted weapons, you need to pass a written and hands on test to get one. Same process for long arms. Civilians cannot carry, however trappers on the trapline can carry, as long as theyre licenced. I'm got my restricted test booked next week, so I know this is a fact. The fact that we can only bring or handguns to the range and not carry sucks though. Alot

@D33Lux I agree 100%. How can the cops protect me if a stranger came into my house while I was sleeping, put a knife to me and demanded money or whatever. My only option would be to reach for a gun that was pre-placed for an unfortunate event as such. Yet I'm being dragged through the courts because I didn't want to wait with my life on the line while I fill out a bunch of paper work and have to then wait to PAY for a saftey course, just to get a long gun, let alone a Pistol/handgun!

Its also a disgrace that criminals are given rights while committing crimes. One cannot even use their fire arm to protect themselves or their home.
