  • how the glass can make a sound?

  • awsome!!

  • Amazing how bare fingers on glass can make such fantastic sounds. Whistling, beat boxing, da spoons, this reminds me of a bell choir.

  • wow that was beautiful

  • absolutely incredible :)

  • Is tis real????? :-0

    But ilove it

  • love

  • Did anyone else see the the glasses he touched turn into rainbows?

  • cool!!!

  • Much better then piano sound... much... ;)))

  • To be honest I have never, untl this point, actually looked for a video like this, I knew they existed ( crystal harps) but finally somethign new to obssess about on the internet :D

  • Simply Amazing

  • Wow... C'est fantastique, les verres ont une très belle sonorité.

  • bravissimo

  • Well done and cool idea :) But the tone is too thin to make any real impact on the listener.

  • What? He is a bartender? Do you need to pay for a concert ticket to enter his bar?

  • Simply inspiring! Thanks for sharing!

  • WOW!

  • How much glasses have you broken till you learned it?or they are just glued at the bottom? :D btw Love it :D

  • Oh my gosh... This is amazing!!! I can only imagine the kind of precision this takes to rub the glass just right without making it tip over etc...

  • My jaw dropped :O

  • ENC0:00RE!

  • Evaporation must be a problem with tuning. Have you considered the "Swimming Pool Liquid Solar Blankets" chemicals that are available that stop evaporation? :)

  • I put my hand on my drinking cup, it didn't work.

  • @greenglobe10 You need a glass that is wider below than above^^

  • Amazing. Many thanks.

  • does this work with absolute vodka ?

  • oncore

  • ok thumbs up if you were to even consider attempting this and end up knocking over glasses cos i sure would !! xD

  • nice but 0:48 did he lost control

  • the tune comes from the of the cups. not from the water level acutally. The water level is to do fine tuning.

  • It's hard to put water and adjust the tune... LOL!

  • Wouldn't want to have an earthquake there

  • Would you please come the mall in my town and teach the Peruvian pan flute guys how to do this?

  • Respect...

  • I can do this........

    ......with my anus!

  • @geostillo78 Now that WOULD be worth a video (AND you'd make a fortune into the bargain!)

  • Can you play Holst's Neptune?

  • That was very awesome! Never seen something like that before.. nice..

  • This is incredibly beautiful. Thank you. Maya

  • geez, id be knocking glasses off the table every three seconds...but this is amazing dude. Gratz

  • the best working glasses are the crystall glasses. ^^

  • @leroyxq the most fragile glasses you can find heh XD only thing that has worked for me though

  • This is amazing!

  • Amazing!

  • wow !

  • that was fukin awesome

  • you also will have more luck if you use a glass with crystal like a crystal wine glass

  • WOW how do you like not push the glasses off the table

  • lol,,Eric Forman.

  • Truly a remarkable sound, the additive harmonics and free resonance of the glasses is incredible, but regrettably it is not well suited for short, stoccato notes, because of the fact of how long it takes to get the glass to vibrate by stroking the rim of the glass.

Beautiful sound, but it does have its drawbacks as a general-purpose instrument.

  • whoaaa whaaat.

  • The talent of this musician is highly complemented by the video skills of the videographer. Over all, a really splendid job by everyone involved.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

  • ...wow!!!!

  • I want to learn to do that.

  • its amazing!!!!!

    really :)

  • :DDD

  • EN CORE. EN CORE. EN COREEE.

  • EXTRAORDINARIO!!!!

  • oh WoW...A M A Z I N G !!!!

  • now this is what I call being inventive. Absolutely amazing. Not my kind of music, but still, I truly enjoyed it!

  • this guy is awesome ,,,can ya play ode to joy buddy

  • COOLNESS!!

  • OMGZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ0.o !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It works with non-crystal wine glasses, but the sound isnt as refined

  • waaaaaaaaaaaw

  • 1000 times BRAVOOOOOOO

  • @VisuallanguageXP really? i got my wine glasses to work. apparently there crystal then! :D

  • it DOES work with usual glasses.

  • Has to be real Crystal glass to do this me thinks?

  • Nope, try with usual glasses shaped somewhat like wine glasses and it should work. Also if you search here on youtube for the harry potter theme performed with a glass harp, the man playing tells us he only has 5 crystal glasses.

    Peace,

    Pax

  • you are right, even if you manage to do it with other glasses the result will not be the same. Try it out for yourself the next time you go to a wedding =)

  • Fantastic !!!!!

  • how sounds come from glass??

    please someone explain

  • you have vibrations coming from the friction of your fingers on the glass (your fingers have to be moist) that echo in the glass. thus, making music

  • thx :)

i tried now that is awesome

    thx again :)

  • no prob

  • es muy bueno jejeje

  • how do you determine which sized glass will produce each note? Do you test each one against a piano? That seems too painstaking. Are there companies that produce glasses of the exact gauge for each note?

  • This is beautiful... But I don't think Glasses are the right medium for this song... Kinda loses its power.

  • a gentler interpretation but still just as valid. I think I prefer this

  • and use crystal also important

  • how do u do this? do you have to have something on ur hands, or do u have to lightly touch the glasses?

  • Your fingers need to be slightly moist, of course the sound depends on the type/shape of glass as well as how much water is inside. If you have any wine glasses at home it's pretty simple. Just fill it with water, dip your fingers in some water and voila.

Bravo to Mr. Tiso, amazing work.

  • firstly: getting the right tone takes ages, secondly: your fingers must be slightly wet to get a tune coming out of the glasses, it's rly not that hard, just takes allot of time and practise to do what this man does in the video :)

  • hahaha eric foreman playing wine glass music!

  • didn't Beethoven compose some songs on the glass harp?

  • those glasses would be a bitch to tune

  • @alex0888 lol it I'd have to put a mark so I know how much water goes in which one XD.

  • haha :-P

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • muito bonito

    aposto que beethoven ficaria lisonjeado...

    parabens

  • A round of applause to you my man:) You are wonderful.

  • He is scary good

  • that is awesome. :). i wunder how long it took him to practice that........

  • Freaking awesome. this is insanely difficult to do, but sooooo much fun and completely worth trying. hours of fun :D

  • *hihihi* put him behind the turntables qo:

  • i'd laugh if like a single sweat drop from his forehead fell into one of the glasses completely changing the tune.

still yet this is really good

  • @kaimisawesome A single drop of water would make a completely unnoticeable pitch change.

  • Fantastic JOB!

  • wow ! magic fingers!

  • woah 1:36 he goes crazy amazing!

  • how long does it take you to setup? and do u have to tune each glass?

  • @ikik35 yes he does, and it freakin difficult. i tryed it...

  • You must have too much free time... Lol this is really good :)

    ~JesusFreak

  • that was quick

  • you will play this for God. this sound should only be dedicated to him. Thats how pure and amazing this is...

  • 0__0 i now think that the western music tradition tends to underestimate and neglect the potential of water as a source of sound and medium for music, despite its obvious potential for absolute beauty... great job, man!

  • I'd like to see someone drop a surprise cinderblock onto that table from about 30' up while he's playing.

  • UNBELIEVABLE!!! u r absolutely amazing!!

  • DANG!!! *jaw drop*

  • GREAT!

  • I was speechless when I saw this!! IT'S AMAZING!!

  • Oh my God! I am amazed!

How do they take sound from the glasses??? I didn't get it...

  • You must rub a wet finger around the rim of a glass.

The glass must have a stem.

Try youself to find out. Bye Robert

  • I tried to do that but I didn't extract any sound from the glass. I used a wine glass.

Does it not need any other requisition?

  • Wine glass is fine.

    You must have clean fingers.

Try washing your hands with hot water and soap, remember to rinse them well so all the soap get's off.

hold the glass firmly by the base with the other hand and rub your wet finger around the rim.

Now you will surely get the glass to resonate.

  • @roberttiso I always use cold water because the hot water makes my fingers sweat which makes it hard for me to play :P

  • @TempterMan The glass has to be pure, most glass contains traces of lead and dirt. Christal works best as it is always pure. Witch is what stopped me from learning, as for myself and many others, christal and pure glass are both too epensive.

  • @TempterMan Make sure it's a crystal glass.

  • @TempterMan

It works better if the wineglass is made of good quality chrystal, instead of glass.

  • bye! how did you know my name?!

haha just playing. This is very impressive, the accurate and precise hand movements. Epitome of grace.

  • Fantastic! ^^

  • awesome.................

  • who ever can do this got talent cus i tried doing it and its hard and i suckk

  • nuh uh!!! No way! i wish i could do that! its rly good

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • beautiful job. well done!
