Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Install and scan

hi i just d/led the program and running a quick scan. i have spybot and it found virtumonde and i have had it show up on the scan before when my computer messed up last year. my question is does virtumonde cause the computer to not turn on. what i mean is my pc comes on when i turn it on, but it makes a bleeping sound, and nothing is showin on the screen. or is this caused by the power supply being old and may need to be replaced. thanks for the vid.

@Spartahara Nope. It works side-by-side with anti-virus programs. Malwarebytes is there to catch anything your normal anti-virus doesn't catch. For example my anti-virus didn't catch the dormant spyware on my system, and 2 NASTY trojans. Malwarebytes did =D

I can't recommend Malwarebytes highly enough. I saved me prolly 100 dollars when I got a hi-jacker trojan. Took my puter to the shop but it was closed. Came home and ran full Malwarebytes scan and it got it. I think it was called AntiSpyware 2010. I still have it in quarantine. Cheers!!

@gilder37 I have Microsoft Windows XP and it is a built in program so that if u install a program, (or one gets installed that u didn't want) it provides a way to restore your computer back to the way it was before the programs were installed. To use system restore go to Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore. U can pick the date u want to restore to, or create a restore point. If u have Norton u must turn off Norton Tamper Protection for it to restore.

@mortimer2100 I found this problem quickly after my provider switched from McAfee to Norton. Also, when I get a "windows error" message and I go into the task manager to "end task" in applications, it won't work. I now have to go into processes in task manager and look for "dumprep.exe" and end process afterwards. A few problems with Norton, but it seems to be a decent protection. Cheers!!

@BetaFlux I get Norton for free from my ISP, it seems to be working pretty well lately with a few problems. I've never tried AVAST, I've heard of it. I did get one "root kit" about 2 months ago, I had to take the puter to the shop, cost $100. I couldn't fix it myself, I didn't even have audio.

yo dude im havin trouble with user protection(rouge antivirus) that downloads by itself(but found out a way to stop it from doing so) and a fake windows 7 security tool 2010(fake signs of infection)bugging me and i tried a full scan but it did not detect it any thing u can tell me why it wont? That is a hard one to track down and delete, best thing is to start up in safe mode, then go into your task manager and end the process that is the virus file, then you can run malwarebytes and let it delete the virus, it works better in safe mode, also go into program files and look for any folders that are virus related, run a boot time scan with Avast, good luck.

ccleaner only cleans out temporary files and cleans up registry files. This is like an anti virus scanner. It's very effective and does a great job cleaning out viruses. Ccleaner doesn't remove viruses. My brother got a virus in Windows 7, and malwarebytes' anti-malware cleaned it out. He had problems getting taskmanager to open and combofix solved that problem.

the reason this doesn't launch is because there is some virus that doesn't let it open so the the only solution is to go to the malwarebytes folder and change the name to -"anything".exe
