Modern unions have become a mockery of their original purpose. The right to unionize was to prevent employer tyranny, but now the unions themselves have become the tyrants. Employers with unions do not have the power to run their business properly. They often have to fire the engineers and hire cheaper, unskilled workers to pay to sit around, just to meet the union's employee quota when business is down. No engineers = bad cars. These people want things handed to them, just like the baillouts.

Im going to sound like a right winger after this second comment posting, but my uncle has 90% blockage an artery, and Canada won't treat him so I'm having him flown down here to have one of my friends do a bypass, because canada said with his age and his not dire situation that he would be on a waiting list projecting he gets the treatment in a year and a half. My father has a similar issue and i have mentioned it on youtube before. He needed quadruple by pass at 76 and he got the surgery right away.

Getting 51 instead of 60 is a good sign? That is not a good sign, that is a show of bullying and manipulating the actual ways senate is supposed to be run. If they get the 60 then fine, but to flat out change the way in which the voting process is to take place is a slap in the face to the process. 2012, let's not count Texas during the Presidential ballot because they may not vote for Obama either. I know 51 is for budget and this does not fall under strictly a budget plan.

Modern unions have become a mockery of their original purpose. The right to unionize was to prevent employer tyranny, but now the unions themselves have become the tyrants. Employers with unions do not have the power to run their business properly. They often have to fire the engineers and hire cheaper, unskilled workers to pay to sit around, just to meet the union's employee quota when business is down. No engineers = bad cars. These people want things handed to them, just like the baillouts.

Unions are the biggest reason the auto-industry went bankrupt in the first place. Too many rules dictating how many employees they can have, hours, salary, strikes. Combined with a legacy of poor engineering, and democrats passing "green" legislation they can barely pass, they could no longer compete.
Unions, however, are the tstronghold of the democrat party, hence the baillouts just for the heavily unionized auto industry with our tax dollars. Now they want us to pay for their healthcare too.

While there are many factors that caused the failure of the car companies, it only takes half a brain to realized that the Unions are largely accountable. When I say "Unions", I'm not talking about the members who actually work hard and give up some of their paycheck to the union. Fear and ignorance rules the day while MILLIONS of WORKING PEOPLE don't have health insurance, can't afford health insurance, have been screwed over/denied by the insurance they do have, and are losing their homes because they had a procedure they needed to live. All in the name of PROFIT. Money above life, sad.

Reject healthcare reform (keep doing what you're doing)
Reject Medicare
Reject Medicaid
Reject YOUR OWN CONGRESS HEALTH INSURANCE
Reject social security and SSI benefits
And while you're at it, reject the post office (after all, its government run and free, so it must be socialism)
