Amazing use of it´s gimmick that actually had never got to me. And awesome graphics as well.

I am quite sceptic about this how ever this doesn't remind me of halo like Metroid prime games did thus it might even be a worth of a try. Unfortunately it looks like it is gonna be a remake of Super Metroid that was released on SNES "As the last scene suggests" wich is kinda disappointing. I am still missing good SNES style metroid action with free exploring and many secrets. This might be a ok game or it's not.

@Bastiest I'm glad I'm not the only one... I think Ninja is screwing it up. They say they want the back story behind Samus... She already has one, she doesn't need an emotional side. I haven't seen a beam besides power/ice, I haven't seen a new suit besides power, where's the Varia? Or even Gravity, since it's been in almost every newer game. I liked Prime, but SNES style was by far the best. And, where is the story line behind Other M? No Mother brain, no Dark Samus, a few bosses here and there

@Steyr455 well, thats not true, at the end we can see mother brain and the metroid hatchling at the end of the trailer so i guess we will have and amazing battle at the end of the game

@Steyr455 They have shown: ice beam, wave beam, diffusion beam, varia suit, screw attack, space jump, grapple beam, speed boost, and shine sparking.

do you honestly think they are going to show EVERYTHING the game has? gravity suit will be there. they have already shown that you get almost every single power up from super metroid. and mother brain is shown in this very trailer....and what do you mean where is the storyline? you think they will show the entire story in the trailer? Jesus.

To me, the lock on feature is necessary. Without it, you don't really get the "gun rush" feeling. Then again, that's 1st person, this is 3rd. Wii shall see. :)

prime was a spinoff but canon games in the metroid universe to move samus into 3-D, this is more back to the original but it will incorporate both 3rd person and 1st person gameplay, probably to appease both the older gen metroid fans and the newer fans who were introduced to prime

I can already tell this game is gonna be freakin' sweet.

I'm not gonna lie, first time I heard of this I thought "Oh man...after the Prime series it's downhill from here," but I'm actually impressed. It looks like Nintendo is taking Metroid back to it's roots with this game (2D side-scrolling action. A.K.A: What made the original Metroid games great). Prime series was great, and probably will stand as my favorite Metroid series of all time, but this looks like it'll be a close second.

Cut scenes? Quick time events? Really Nintendo? You guys are focusing on all the wrong things.

Metroid is supposed to be about exploration, not over-elaborate battle sequences thatmore than likely involve using quick time events (I swear to God, Quick Time Events are going to be the death of hardcore gaming).

And the cut scenes? Why? All the storytelling in the earlier games (excluding Fusion) used subtle clues to tell the story, not fucking pointless flashbacks. God this is going to suck!

The beginning was an obvious intro. Plus, this is a *trailer*. For this kind of game, it will be all action.

Well, let's see, there was bunch of pointless origin sequences shown in the previous trailer. The intro at the beginning of this trailer only adds to the number of scenes I've seen so far in that regard.

As for the quick time events, I have no proof that's what they are going to use but some of the battle sequences I've seen don't seem possible gameplay wise unless they are using quick time events.

The developers of this game really know what they're doing. Taking the strengths of past Metroid games and putting them in, making them stronger, and getting rid of the weaknesses.

@foxuzamaki Yeah I've played Prime, amazing game I might add. I thought she was in the Varia Suit, just they re-designed it. Her Power Suit had flat shoulders if I remember.

hmm now tht i look at it i think she did have flat shoulders too, maybe back thn it was the effect of losing majority of the suit's powers and greatly effected the armo,r and possibly the power suit without any serious damage taken is better defensively or it could just be a upgrade of the suit, something to think about maybe

I guess we will have to wait until E3 for an official word on this.

Personally I'm not sure how I would feel about this. An HDMI port is sorely lacking on a current gen video game system, but since it would add development time and extra cost to developers they would most likely pass this on to us.

Also, unless they add more powerful hardware I don't see anything getting over 720p, short of a WiiWare like title.

The 720p is just Youtube quality. There are plenty of Wii vids out there in 720p. Though there is now a special cable that allows you to play Wii games in 1080p quality.

The only way you will be 1080p output from a Wii is by upscaling (upconvert) it and that wouldn't do a thing for it other than have your TV info display "1080p" instead of 720p.
