I've watched a lot of Chinese TV series. Many good ones. But this one was lousy.

The script was uninspired. And many potential plot developments were overlooked.

Hong Fu Nu chooses a dummy to love, who repeatedly demonstrates ineptness, stupidity and lack of sense.

Also, the main female character was miscast. The better-looking Princess Ping Yang should have been given the role instead.

@tncdel just one thing, if Hong Fu didn't choose the dummy to love, the movie would be lousy and misleading, The legend is the love between Lijing and Hong Fu. Lijing is not really dumb, he is careful and have a detailed mind in this series. In the history, he is one of the greatest general in the history of China.

@skipper8843, then I guess we have to agree to disagree. I've watched mostly Korean TV dramas [well over a hundred of them], but have also watched dozens of Chinese dramas, mostly based on history. This one in my opinion was the WORST I've seen.
