Every time I watch this trailer I get over emotional. This movie is one of my favorites because it shows what real high school football is. I'm a southern girl from Houston, TX who grew up in community where football is everything. I've witnessed some real life remarkable Friday Night Lights games like playing Katy, TX Ranked #3 in the Nation and beating them with :30 secs left on the clock for State Championship. Nothing compares to the feeling u get when you witness games like this in person.

We just had a state championship game 3a Colorado silver creek vs Windsor . Every one thought my team was going to win, we beat the team earlier in the season why wouldn't we now? But we didn't and the dream of silver creeks first state title flew out the window .I don't know why god decided that we shouldnt win that game but what the reason is I am still so proud of the opportunity to represent in my heart the best team in Colorado

I hate people that think just because there a football player in high school that they're better than everyone else. Its wrong. I played for a 5A football team, lettered, and we lost in the playoffs to the state champs that hadnt been beaten for 5 years straight. It makes this movie really speak to me.

Best movie ever. This movie brings back so many amazing memories of high school, and of playing ball. My town is a lot like Odessa, it was a small mill town in Western PA that revolves around high school sports especially football. My 3 years on varsity we were 38-4, damn proud to say were the winningest group of seniors in school history because my school Bishop McCort is in the top 10 in PA history for most wins, we won 3 conference&district titles and got to state my senior year. Seniors '09.

The book painted Odessa as a redneck only football loving town during the 1980's. I mean they didn't give a damn about education and during that time the Oil Bust hurt the town and the state of Texas really really bad. I mean for those folks in that town, high school football was all they had. There are still small town in Texas where high school football is their only entertainment. It's true if you go to those places and for Odessa that time and still is football is their lifeblood.

Other than the Dallas Carter final in the real life it was a semi final game played at DKR in Austin on a rainy day. Dallas Carter go to state and won but had to forfeit it due to an ineligible player. What you see in the movie about the football being all or nothing is true. The Odessa didn't desegregate until the 1980's and what you see from those characters were true about living up to the hype. The book was really well done along with the movie later the TV series.
