  • @DubSpot hey, i got the djm 900 nexus, n cdj 2000's i need help setting it up to tractor scratch pro 2. i wanna hook it all through usb. i understand i don't need the audio 8/4 sound card. but right now I'm having trouble just connecting everything. PLEASE HELP

  • @MrSiddmakker if you have the 900 nexus, just plug the CDJs into the CD inputs or line inputs. Make sure to update your Nexus Driver on the pioneer website. When you plug in the mixer, the nexus setup tool should pop up and you can set each deck to timecode control. Then everything should work. No need to use the CDJs soundcard, in fact I highly advise against doing that. Its really buggy! <3 the Nexus!!! - Endo

  • Great, help me out with connecting traktor control x1 to a similar setup like yours to trigger samples and effects. Thanks in advance

  • If for example I had

    2 x CDJ 900's

could I use NI's Maschine or XI to assign track hot cue points?

  • @necnenecne Yes you can use as many controllers as you'd like with Traktor (including CDJ 900's, Maschine and X1). See my latest video on the dubspot youtube called "the mothership" ;-)

  • Do you need a audio4/8 to do this? Will the sound output from the CDJ into the mixer because the CDJ is its own sound card?

  • @jordancastro1 Yes exactly. If you use the CDJ 2000's or CDJ 900's to control Traktor they both act as their own soundcard, so you don't need the audio 8/4

  • is this the same with traktor duo? HELP

  • Holy shit! I'm gonna be leaving my APC at home tonight I think and giving this a try. Thanks for the vid, I've have been a bit uneasy if I hadn't seen it in action first.

  • how would the sync function in traktor work with this type of setup?

wouldnt the tempo slider on the cdj mess everything up if it was anywhere except at 0 ?

  • @DeeJayChrisRyan You can map any button on the CDJ 900 or 2000 to be a sync button

  • What is the function in traktor for moving the end of the loop like you did with the outer ring ??? looking for it for a while now.

  • @stevemeloche666 Open up the advanced panel of Traktor (below the decks), click on "Move", select "Loop Out" in drop down menu, change the value to fine, and then click the left button. You can also map this to a midi key or hotkey as a shortcut.

  • What version of traktor is this? I have 900s and traktor scratch pro but the presets are there in traktor for either the 900s or the 2000s? anyone got any ideas or help, thx

  • @fiddelfingerz this was made about 6 months ago. If you have the latest version of Traktor Scratch Pro this ought to work. Did you look at the steps below for setting up?

  • fucken great! i just ordered two peaces of 900 :-)

  • Can you use it to scratch?

  • @wrenmeister Yes, you can use it to Scratch

  • Slip mode works playing through traktor??

  • @djcesarcolombia no it doesnt :( but the beatmasher in traktor or the roll on the DJM-800 both provide a very similiar effect

  • @djcesarcolombia Slip Mode doesn't work when using as HID because Traktor doesn't have that feature yet

  • Connect the players via USB, install the ASIO driver, start up traktor. Than go to the controller Setup. Add CDJ 2000 over the menu in the top. After that press link on the player, select pc link. Then you should have the option to select the deck (A - D). And after pushing the rotary you should control traktor over HID.

  • @DubSpot both CDJ's need to be connected to the computer via USB. if you are using a hub, because you have a 3rd device such as an X-1, and your computer only has two USB ports, you need to make sure that one of the CDJ's is directly connected to the computer. it will not work if both CDJ's are connected to the hub.

  • @DubSpot these are terrible news then! cos a macbook pro has 2 usb ports... one would be for the soundcard, the other for the hub.

  • @DubSpot What Asio driver do you have installed because when I hook my cdj 900s through the usb everything works good but it seems like the cdjs are lagging. The jog wheel is not as responsive. Any ideas?

  • @borce32 Yeah - just use the Audio Traktor CDs to control Traktor through the Audio 8 DJ or another Native Instruments soundcard such as the Audio 4, Audio 6 or Audio 10. Using the 900's as a HID controller is very buggy and unreliable unfortunately.

  • @DubSpot Is it then also possible to switch between USB/Traktor en CD mode without losing connection?

  • how do u connect it to your PC? Like do you have connect each CDJ into a USB slot? Or can u just connect 1 and use the CDJ link feature and use both decks with only one connection?

It'd be great if you could show how to set-up the whole thing (2 CDJs and a DJM, with traktor)....

  • can you use the soundcard in the player with traktor? i have heard the sound from the player soundcard isnt good, is that right?
