As much as I prefer and love FNM's Mike PAtton days...I love this song...the whole thing just gels really well together. Plus, this is testament to Jim Martin being one of those few guitarists that actually plays a solo that is perfect for the tune...not one note too many or too less. Gutted when he left them.
@LikeTheSunIAmOne You do know chili peppers were inspired by fnm. You might like to check out Mike Pattons other work. Tomahawk - god hates a coward, has good bass riffs. For bass you might also like megadeth dawn patrol. I will have to check thru my tunes. Is it funk ya after or just good bass tunes in general???
FNM is one of those bands that I can't really decide if I like the original singer or the newer singer better. I loved Morris' almost english accent in some of the songs, but Mike Patton is, well, come on it's Mike Patton. If you haven't checked it out yet look up "God Hates a Coward" a great Mike Patton song.
I allso think it is strange that people just like to say negative shit about this music.what is the point of bringing negativity.of course.people have the right to say what thay feel and meen.I allso do that.but I try to respect what people feel and what they say.sometimes its important to criticise to.but thank you for coming with positive shit to my life.respect and love.chetilio1976.

Faith No More has always been great. Every album is a work of art and as a band they just grew up and started writting how they wanted to. They are the ultimate band
Without Chuck there never would've been Faith No More be it him or Mike the band itself is one of the greatest no love lost on the member's that disbanded thru the year's of their climb to 98 and if anyone has the vid cut of Mike and Chuck singing Introduce yourself please drop me a line I heard they did it on one of the reunion show's
This is one of FNM's weirdest songs. I love it. They stole the intro from "In a Big Country" by Big Country. They just yell "WHAT?!" instead of "SHOT!" But it's still totally unique.
@instereovideos I'm not sure you got ears at all. Seriously, they 'stole' the intro from Big Country? The two beats sound NOTHING alike. Nothing. All because one yells 'what' and the other yells 'shot'? Come on now...
Chuck has such presence. Faith No More. god-damm. This band is great in every way, with all components. but the Chuck Mosely era was so much funner. If you took Mike and Chuck and you tried to classify them, two different worlds......its still a great band, but where in hell is Jim? what can you all do?
@sallyforthbastards Yes I love the Faith No More 80s stuff with Chuck. Glad they replaced him with Patton cause the band had to evolve and move on but as you said the Chuck era was very fun stuff. The band during that time were just misfit kids having fun and making good music. Didnt really fit in to any kind of category. Patton's era was magic but so was Chuck's in a nostalgic kinda way.
FNM was my favourite tape, blasting up the Lochs of Scotland in my first Lancia with 'We care a lot' turned up to 11. Brilliant times, Chucky boy was cool. As for Mike in my opinion things kept moving and getting better, I matured with the music, Stripsearch, helpless, Everythings ruined.... where does it end they are all fantastic tunes, all sung to perfection, except maybe 'I started a joke', didnt like it when the Bucked tooth Bee Gee's sung it, was a bit disappointed when FNM picked it.
The guitar was more of the driving force it seems like before mike Mike made the band put the vocals in front but they rocked then and they would still be one of the best bands if they released their first record today. No matter which singer they had
@mattocomungatto hah! Have you even bothered to listen to his work with Fantomas, Mr Bungle, or Mondo Cane? I recommend Cape Fear by Fantomas and Deep Deep Down by Mondo Cane. Trust me, Patton is the best singer in all rock music. His vocal range and versatility is astounding.
Lots of Mosley haters out there. But I gotta say, even though Patton had a better voice, "The Real Thing" was really the only great record that he made with the band. And even though Real Thing was the ultimate FNM record, THIS was the best overall era. Chuck sang on two classic records with the band, and so in my book, he did more good work with them than Mike did. I'm not saying that Angel Dust wasn't good, I'm just saying that the band never should have let Mike influence their direction.
For me "We Care a Lot" is 1,000 times greater an album than anything they did with Mike Patton. I know people love him, but I FAR prefer the Chuck Mosley era.
I think Mosley's singing style should be compared with the bands popular at that time, i.e. new wave bands instead of FNM in the 90s. If you listen to bands like Joy Division and Killing Joke, you hear that back these days, most singers' style (and voice) strongly resembled to Mosley. That is where FNM started and that's why he was a good choice in this era.
Mosley was an ass. Period. They made a good decision to kick his cocky ass out and get Patton, otherwise they would not have lasted as long. Good decision.
Someone tell me what the "Fuck Shit Up" shirt is that Chuck is wearing is all about. I've seen pics/video of Hetfield and Newsted wearing the same shirt from back then, so I'm assuming it was a local Bay Area thing.
@dr000g FSU was a hardcore gang from the area back in the day. Started over in Boston and eventually opened a chapter on the west coast. Stands for Friends Stand United among various other things.

Patton is my all time favourite Vocalist but this is a great little song and mosley bringsh is own style to the song. Why ruin a perfectly song withall the comparisons and the hating??
