  • Your high school did Flower Drum Song?? WOW! I've never known of a high school, or anyone, doing this show -- and they should. Good on you! Was the production recorded?

  • my school's doing a production of flower drum song.! we've learned the dance numbers: 100 million miracles, chop suey, and we're halfway done with Grant Avenue.! it's really exhausting, but it's worth it.!

  • Yes, indeed, —Clearly, you're not from The Bay Area, as everyone here knows of "Grant Avenue" in The City —You probably will want to change that...

  • as this was suppose to take place in San Francisco, the name of the street is GRANT Avenue not Grand.

  • Nancy Kwan reminds me of Ann-Margret in Bye Bye Birdie. Must be the style

    of dancing.

  • As a kid, I just LOVED this number! Practiced it in my bedroom while my brothers were outside playing baseball and football. I want her HAT! Hahahahaha. Thanks for posting this great moment in film.

  • It's Grant Avenue! And yes it is a great number. However let me assure everyone the real Grant Avenue looks nothing like this!

  • For me, this is one of the best ensemble dance routines put on film. To my eye, the style of this dance routine was derived from Broadway's top choreographers of the period, Jerry Robbins, Bob Fosse and Michael Kidd. Kudos to Hollywood choreographer Hermes Pan, who is credited for bringing it to the screen. With some exemptions, he was also responsible for choreographing many of Fred Astaire movies, including the ones with Ginger.

  • Man, they are so talented!!! Love this dance scene! Thanks for posting!
