One on one the cichlid will always win. They are like battering rams. Piranha are from the characid family. It is not in their DNA to fight. Movies and legends will not help a piranha against an equally sized cichlid. Piranha have teeth but they will never get to use them. I would say thats a red belly Pacu, they are from the pirahna family normally vegetarian, but once they taste blood they became mean. I had one that grew to almost 20", by 10" he cleared the whole cichlid family that shared tank with him.

That's a Silver Dollar, not a Pirahna. I keep Silver Dollars, you can tell because of the tail, and it doesn't have a red belly, it has a red bottom fin. Red Bellied Piranha's don't have a bottom fin that large. it's also narrower and taller than a Red Belly. Pirahna's are wider than they are tall, regardless of their size, silver dollars, on the other hand, are taller than their width. It's a silver dollar.
