I've bought your book but I regret that I did not order the DVD. Can I just purchase your DVD separately. Fyi - you excel series had helped me so much.
It kind of is 10 x faster by remodeling the Database so it can use Vlookups ... but I don't want to remodel the Database all the time I have something similar... the power of sumifis made me lacy, so to say. But its slow.
@ElmarBischof , SUMIFS is pretty fast as you will see in the playlist. Things like Helper Columns are usually a great way to speed things up. I have just recently made a few videos about Helper Columns: EMT 802 and Mr Excel excelisfun Trick 81. More to come also.
Could you recommend one of your videos regarding an alternative to an =sumifis Function ? (Trick #203 did not solve it, although was generally nice as all of them)
Once one uses 100 to xyz sumifis Functions containing 4 to 5 criteria within one Workbook it starts to get a bit slow at recalculating - as one changes a key-indicator that effects all of them for instance.
In one of your videos you have mentioned the key short-cut for copying Conditional Formatting Rules when in "Conditional Formatting Rules Manager" window. But I have forgotten the short-cut and the video it was mentioned in. I've spent HOURS looking for it but no luck... Could you please, please, please remind me of the short-cut?
Also had to duplicate a lot of continental formatting with slightly different formulas but similar Formatting rule.
Copy it to the cells to the right as often as you need it ... change the Formulas, select all the fields and then past them into the original cell with Merge (Alt+H+V+G). (Take care that you use the right reference type within your formulas or it might get scrambled at merging)
I've been a big fan for a while. I have a quick problem and don't seem to find a video that can help me out (maybe my search skills are not that good :) ).
Anyways, my problem is that I have the same data elements coming every week and I want to store those with that particular date in order to create a database. Any suggestion?
I was wondering why we hadn't received any notifications of new videos from you, so I checked it out and found out about your injury. Must be very frustrating for you. Hope the recovery is going well.
Mike, love your videos. I am preparing for the MOUS Excel expert certification and your tutorials are invaluable. Do you have a tutorial on iterative formulas and on auditing formula errors by tracing with precedents and dependents?
Thanks Mr excel is fun! your videos are really great and educational, I am sorry to hear of your accident I hope you will recover soon and best wishes for you Thank you again
I'm using Excel 2007 and I had a specific question. I have some raw data that is from A1:H500 and I made three pivot tables out of the same data. Those three pivot tables then feed into a model that I created. The only problem I have is that in my three pivot tables each of them have a "report filter" that is independent of all the other pivot tables. Can I create one "report filter' that will automatically filter all three pivot tables or will I have to filter each pivot table one at a time?

So i have given the formaula as "=IFERROR(IF([MasterFile.xlsx]PList!A6=" "," ",[MasterFile.xlsx]PList!A6)," ")"
but in the new row where there is no data in the source file. I get the value as 0 instead of a null value.
