She was bribed by someone before the trial who had connections with Don King for a lot of money and she declined.
Tyson's image was indeed a big factor in his conviction, but also was Washington's consistent testimony, credible witnesses, physical/medical evidence, and Tyson's inconsistency in his testimony.

The prosecution should should have let the defense know about the Walker incident if they knew about it she certainly did and the inconsistencies in her account meant that the police should have checked her background which to my knowledge they didn't. Only 2 ppl know what happened but if there's reasonable doubt don't convict.

(continued) Walker was never introduced till the appeals process (after trial). Also, admitting him would violate rape-shield laws as well as laws that prevents other previous cases from biasing the present case. in other words, admitting walker would allow the prosecution to admit ppl who accused and filed lawsuits against Tyson for sexual offenses....lol, and boy, there's alot of them, lol.

In his trial testimony he claims that he outright bluntly told Washington that he wanted to screw (which btw was inconsistent with his grand jury testimony).... so there was "no middle ground" Also, Washington told him that she did not want to have sex-- no meant no.
I know that he had a troubled past, but that shouldn't justify his actions. Him denying rape is like a druggie trying to change but who denies having a drug problem.
