He was born when Britain was a world superpower. Our language and demeanor has greatly deteriorated along with our Empire. But Tony Benn shows we can be Great Britain without owning 2-3 continents. lol
The only difference between you and Tony Benn is that he is in his skin and you are not. We all have the possibility to think things through, speak out and be generally good people. To be a great thinker or person you don't even need to have on-air time. All you have to do is be kind and forgiving. People will recognize this and carry it into their own lives. When you see the effects (it takes a little time) you're glad that you did it. You may not be thanked. But you know you did good.

@eldrak21 I said to all my friends, in the run up to the elections that I wanted the return of the left. If Tony Benn was leader of Labour, I would go out and actively support him in every capacity. I voted Labour today, in probably a vein hope that Old labour will return.

Wishing someone else who is well spoken will do the work for us takes the responsibility out of our hands and puts it into someone else's, regardless of how awesome he is. Become the change you want to see
@Rantandreason Most people have over the past 40 years become disillusioned with politics and thats why the political parties have ceased to serve them.
Its up to the majority of people to get back involved with politics so it doesn't become over run by people who are out to serve only minority interests.
I think its fantastic that he points out how crazy G. Bush was when suggesting that God told him to invade Iraq. Why cannot he point out how crazy the radical Muslims are when they are blowing up buildings and killing their own citizens because God has commanded them to do so?
@PoliticalJunkie2036 Because the extremist muslims are in no way spokespeople for the islamic community. Tony Benn is educated well enough to know that what the extremists are doing has very little to do with the actual religion of Islam.
