@Palounay The only way to capture this music is to play the game and record it via line-in. That takes quite some time. Grabbing the audio files from the disk itself is no good, for some reason you end up with fragmented tracks.
@Palounay Yes, getting wav files out of CD-i discs is a bit of a tricky process, and even then it won't work well with every game. Unfortunatly, this is one such game :(
Say, now that you have (assumably) two pads, does this support two players without the splitter? Thanks! I'm looking for a cheesy, two-player cd-i game that doesn't require a splitter :P
@HalfBlindGamer Alright, thanks! I'll have to play this with someone, have them use the remote, then sit in front of the CD-I's infrared detector ;D I love cheating!
Heh, did you like it? How come you got it (out of curiosity)? Was it cause' Phil Hartman was in the commercials? That would be my reasoning to get one, if I had grown up in that time. ;D
@smartlamppost My father decided we wanted one after we checked it out at my uncle who got one really early. I doubt we had the same commercials too here.
I remember when I was a child, I loved to play the game with the song at 7:55
I love this song but I think it's impossible to find it, I still have the game but you know, if everytime I want to listen to this song I have to play micro machines...^^'
I did start to capture the music of this game too, but I think I lost it crap. I'm pretty sure I had done at least that track, sorry. Maybe I'll do it again someday.
Yeah I do want to do other systems too, I've already done 2 TV games in the past as you might have seen and might do more (well the Star Wars sword game for sure at some point).
Maybe I'll do some c64 stuff but then I'd have to use an emulator since I'm not going to load games to review on cassette lol. I'd like to keep it original with platforms not done as much.
I'd also like to show what are my favorite games, old and new, but not sure if I can manage that as extra.
I remember i used to have this game for CD-I as a kid wich was some sort of crime investigation game, where you play as a detective and have to watch millions of FMV's and collect clues.
I cant remember the name of it, but maybe you know wich one im talking about?
The one that springs to mind right away is Voyeur, but there might be more. But in Voyeur it's your task to spy on someone in a big house and find clues by doing so. All is done with FMV's. Does that name ring a bell?
Yes, thats it! I remember i used to think it was boring back then, especially since i had like 5% knowledge in english back then, but it might have caught my interest today.
I'll keep it in my mind, and try to review it soon. I don't remember to much specifics about the game since I sort of had the same thing back then. So I'd have to play it for a bit to really get a good idea about it. But it's added to the list!
Oh I have good ones too, it's just that the balance for this system is a bit off when it comes to bad vs good hehe. I did get a lot of games back when the thing was new, and some of them were bad even then (I have a few that I only played once or twice because they sucked!). Now that I started doing these vids I did grow out my collection somewhat, but that's pretty easy since they are dirt cheap here.
That was great !! Sorry man... had to put you through this horror. I went from playing the Megadrive version, to playing this abomination and couldn't believe what a disaster it was.
Thanks man, really appriciate you saying that. Subscribers are slowly growing now, and I'm in no real rush with it. I take quality viewers over quantity ;).
Are you a fan of the serries? What version did you think was best, I haven't tried them all so I don't really know, but I doubt there's any version worse then this one lol.
awesome review keep up the good work seb

@Frankkaiba Thanks! The MD port of Micro Machines is also a great one, way more playable than on the CD-i, that's for sure!

@HalfBlindGamer Yeah i tried to take the audio file but it's in .grn format and I can't convert it.

@smartlamppost You know, I've never tried that I think. I'm pretty sure it does work with one player on a joypad and the other on a remote though.

Oh dear, the underpowered cd-I running a poor version of a popular game like micro machines.

I used to love this game, I had no idea it was available on the CD-I. Which was... a horrible system.
good review

Can you do a review of Burn Cycle and Escape From Cyber City?
ShroomA1 3 years ago
Sure thing, on the list they go :)
I won't do them to fast though since they're both pretty well known games for the CD-i and I want to spread those out a bit.
