  • The whole thing was an improper push-up. His ass was sticking out like a retard and he probably was touching the ground.

    Plus he was bending his arms too far which probably isn't good which is why his push-ups look like shit in the first place.

  • Arms DO get tired from running. Especially when running long distances i.e., half, full, and ultra marathons. If you notice, you can't run properly without pumping your arms. I'm a marathon runner and I ALWAYS do push ups on cross-training days, along with LOTS of other upper body strength training to keep arms good for running for over two hours.

  • I can do one handed pushups and clap ups but most times I'll painfully crack my back. Any help?

  • He's got horrible form, yes. But what I think is the stupidest thing is that it's not really your arms that get tired when you run. It's your shoulders, and regular pushups do pretty much nothing for your shoulders.

  • The correct way is the way he is doing it. Now they do it the lame way with arms at 90 degrees. It's harder the way he does it. Chest is supposed to touch the ground. His back is flat.

  • idk but this skinny guy gave in after the 15th push up...laaaameee...instead of doing 50-60in a serie for 3 series a day in a fast burst half way down,builds muscle faster..

  • Man, please look properly at his back when he is performing the push-up. The back is totally arched into lordosis. IT IS NOT STRAIGHT as the coach claims! This is about the worst push-up posture I have seen. There is no activation of the abs when he pushes, which is why the arch takes place. This is a negative example of how to perform push-ups.

  • @Abby1211 I know what you mean...I taught a Pre-National Service enlistment program at a Polytechnic and the students were performing horrible "push-ups"...most of them had their hips going up and down in extension and flexion of the spine with hardly any chest movement.

    I don't envy your job! :)

  • The kid is locking his elbows. Also, he's falling so fast on the eccentric motions that it is doing him little to no good. Try extending your arm until your elbows are almost locked, but not quite, also, lower yourself SLOWLY, and raise yourself back up quickly. Pausing at the top is good because emphasizes control, but if you're locking your elbows on each peak, well, not so much.

  • Another more subtle and equally important aspect of the pushups being demonstrated are that the kid is bringing his elbows in and behind as he goes down. Many people stick their elbows out to the side. Bad.

  • you should always keep your butt straight with your back, but if your body HAS to have its gluts up and you feel okay so you don't think you're damaging body alignment, go ahead... these aren't hard rules, there just tips and guidelines in the video
