@geeker87 thanks this video did help alot, I've seen the maya used with Traktor i just need to find out how lol need it to work with a pair of cdj1000's
Hey, if you're using it purely for vinyl emulation you may want to look at xwax. It's the original vinly emulation engine that's used in mixxx. It's much more lightweight and is free of all the bloated bugs that mixxx features.
@lukeysim The control tone tells the software how far in to the record it has got. It encodes the position and timing information so it is impossible to decode without software. Think of it as a long beep which gradually goes from one note (low) to another (high). If the software notices the sound is getting higher in pitch, then the record is moving forwards, if nothing then it isn't moving, and if it is getting lower in pitch the record is moving backwards.
Sorry I've been rubbish with the comments... In answer to the main question, it does work but you need to do a lot of tweaking of the settings. My set up now uses Virtual DJ with the same maya card and it is pretty good. Side B of the serato timecode vinyl works best. Changing the ASIO latency for your card can have a big effect as well.
My phone now is a bit crap but I'll try and sort out a demo video when I get some time.
thanks for the vid, i heard u say on a good day u could do a mix is it unstable some how? and i have heard that the stantons are very good turntables indeed hats off to u with that...
That's what I'm gonna do to(geeker87's set up). Burn time-code CD's for my Mixwell CD-DJ1/Tascam TT-M1 set-up. No all I need is a mirror to view my PC monitor,LOL(until I get a laptop).
@steeltownbrown52 But so-far unfortunately I'm having no luck. Mixxx has a hard time with Maya(peep my vid to see my problem,I'm not spamming). geeker87, you must have a horseshoe or rabbit's foot up that coo of yours.
I am sorry but geeker87 can you please explain what software do you use and is there anything else needed except Maya44 USB, 2x Serato records and software?
The software I am using is Mixxx. On the basic level, you can have the outputs of the decks hooked up to the inputs of the soundcard, then the outputs of the soundcard linked up to to your mixer. The setup I've got allows the use of both regular vinyl and vinyl emulation, by using Y-splitter cables which in turn with the mixer allow us to select the source we want. WNNN21bwaBU <- this describes how the decks are linked to the sound card. The diff is that I'm using Mixxx rather than Virtual DJ.
Thank you for quick answer. Yes this Y split is really nice.
Is only there only Serato vinyl working? If not, is there some difference between Serato, MixVibes and Virtual TC vinyl's? Is there some that gives the best result?
@Safalta05 for mixxx software, serato 2nd edition timecodes work the best, traktor scratch pro vinyls also work well, but the traktor cds dont work at all
Do you mean the connectors? They are just phono splitters to feed the output of the decks into the sound card and the mixer (allowing switching between vinyl emulation and regular vinyl modes)
soo...... does this not work with serato?
DjBurgess08 3 months ago
@DjBurgess08 No, I'm using Mixxx which is free software. Serato, Traktor, Numark products etc require additional hardware and software.

Can this be done with Traktor Scratch??
MUSKMANBENJI 2 years ago
Mixxx supports Traktor Scratch disks, yo yup you could have a similar setup but with different timecode records.

nd do those splitters mean u cn switch between vinyl nd timecodes with the line/phono switch on the mixr?
Dopplegang3r 2 years ago
yea, my mixers both have phono/line at the top where you select the channel, line input is from the sound card, phono input from the deck
geeker87 2 years ago
haha wat uv got ws exactly my plan =P shud be costin me about 90 (so about 100 wiv p&p) cheers 4 the vid
