wow...this song used 2 put me 2 sleep when i was seven back in 8. where does the time go? My mom used to sing it to me up until the day she passed. u guys r the best. Eyes r tearing up. what memories, well.........time to get piffed out, blunts await
@cv41393 It's no mistake. Following King Pleasure's successful hit version of "Moody's Mood for Love" Jimmy McHugh the original author of "I'm in the Mood for Love" sued for copyright infringement and won a partial victory in court. After the inital 1954 release, all subsequent releases and reissues showed the new title as "I'm In The Mood For Love". In the case of the version used in this video, the title on the two LPs and the jackets and the 7" single are as I've listed it.
@cv41393 As for it being a completely different song, King Pleasure's recording is actually a vocalese rendition of James Moody's 1949 recording of "I'm In The Mood For Love". It's here on YouTube if you're interested in hearing the original. w w w.youtube.c o m/watch?v=R2TRWADezgE
@Slayd5K - You are correct. This was originally issued as "Moody's Mood For Love" and later issued as "I'm In The Mood For Love."
I like the sound of your Shure cart (looks like a V-15 type V). I'm not a big Shure fan although I do like this cart and the M3D. I've heard that this cart sounds magical when loaded at about 62K capacitance :)
@PJDooWop Good eye, it is a Shure cart, but it's a M97e. While I do love the low end on this cart, I ususally I prefer to track with an AT-150MLx. The pairing of it and the tech 1200 is an unbelieveable combination.
@Slayd5K - Well, I will add this as a 3rd Shure cart that I like. I have not liked the sound of most Shure carts that I've heard, but I learned from a friend that most of them sound better when you move the load off of 47K.
I use the AT-150MLX as well. It pulls nuances from songs that I've never heard befoe. For stereo records it's the best sounding cartridge I own. My favorite cartridge (at least from what I've owned so far) is the mono Denon DL-102
FRANKIE CROCKER WAS A MASTER RADIO ANNOUNCER...GIVE HIM HIS PROPS ! FRANKIE CROCKER WAS A PLEASURE TO LISTEN TOO, A VOICE SMOOTH AS VELVET...JUST LIKE THE SONGS HE PLAYED...
MAY GOD REST YOUR SPIRIT SOUL FRANKIE CROCKER... PEACE... :)
This is the GREAT DJ, Franky Crocker! While I'm sure he worked many stations, I caught up with him back in the day (early '80's) when he was working the pm drivetime in NYC on the great WBLS! He closed his show everyday with another version of this song by George Benson, and I ALWAYS made sure that whatever I was doing, I would catch his sign-off.....he caught up with some trouble, and never heard from him again....peace
@scales57 To set the story straight, Frankie Crocker closed his PM Drive Time show with this version of the song back in the '70s (BEFORE George Benson recorded it)....He worked in New York radio from the 60s through the 80s....He passed away I believe in 1999 and he was living in Florida at the time
@tljones9 not sure what your point is? for a while in the 80's he played this song...yeah, I know it was his sign-off trade mark for the many years he was on the air...70's AND 80's included....I just caught up with him at that point in 80's...that's all I was trying to say...
I First Heard Bill Cosby sing this on The Cosby Show back in 1992. He was a shoe-in for his comedy, but i seriously think that he should have been a singer too. Note the singing talent of Phylicia Rashad in that same episode. She blew me away with a absolute phenomenal voice.

@CapeRayer23 I agree. Dr. Cosby is talented. I have an album that he did with Quincy Jones related to a character that he played. I'll post it later.
Great upload Slay'd! Your taste in music is awesome! You & Phil should start a radio station.
