  • Oh wow! I was at Tioman in 1968 when there was nothing there but a small Kampong on the beach - how things change!

I was 11 at the time and I slept out under the stars with my brother...and got bitten by the anepholes mosquito and caught malaria! Good ending though because I got a month off school in Singapore!

    Happy days.

  • guess where the party's at this summer! :-) Tioman here we come! <3

  • Wow cool video - i like the music too.

I live in Singapore too and went to Tioman couple of weeks ago; it was awesome!

    We did snorkling.

I'd like to do scuba diving does it require license to dive in Tioman?

    How can I get one?

  • You must be certified to dive, trust me, it will save your life.

Check out Bali Hai Divers at Panuba Inn on Tioman Island. They can get you certified, they are safe, and the equipment is in great condition.

  • Thanks for your reply.

Where in Singapore can I get certified? And how much will it cost?

Is there an expiry date for the license? And once I get certified can i dive anywhere in the world?

    thanks :)

  • @nitro2u2 google scuba diving singapore, you'll find a ton of dive centres, most are ok, i worked with waikiki dive centre for a while, they're a bit pricey but instructors are good (ie not lazy and unsafe divers) unlike some of the other companies that I shall not mention.

costs usually around $550 (including equip rental, accom, transport etc)

license is valid for life, although dive centres around the world may insist you do a pool session with them if you havent dived in years.

  • haha, amazing video! wanna get a license of diving? redang island got the training,400rm,i thought. try it

  • Dio, ti prego, fa che un giorno anche io possa mettere piede su un posto cosí bello e sentirmi felice

  • well that was fantastic rendition of [over the rainbow]but how do i get from singapore to tioman cheaply with minimumxffxxfxff hassle..just a ?

  • Take the bus from Singapore to Mersing, then the ferry to Tioman; or you can fly direct from Sing. to Tioman via Berjaya Air. See the credits at the end of the video for the best place to stay and dive in Tioman.
