  • Oh no shit. Hahaha I'm stupid. When it started with the alphabet I thought I learned everything wrong.

  • I was wondering why non of this looked famalier from elementry school this is british

  • its british sign language jeez ¬.¬ much like us british speak (mostly) english and americans speak american english, have some common sense....

  • That's British Sign Language (BSL). Therefore it's the proper signing in several countries like England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and a few others. ASL (American Sign Language) is completely different than that. Similiar as speaking language there are many different languages in the world such as Spanish, English, French, Russian, and etc.

  • I think it is sad that we couldn't even come up with a universal sign language. But I also think all the people saying this is wrong because it isn't ASL need to be a little less narrow minded

  • fvck this is not "ASL!!!!!" hate it soooo much

  • ASL is not the only sign language in the world ... looking at all the comments which said this is wrong, you guys need to understand more about sign language before you start commenting ... pfft...

  • @peggyzoewong This is BSL for all of the Brithaters.

  • Not the right kind of signing!

  • this isn't proper signing -.-

  • What kind of sign language is this? For sure, not ASL

  • @AvatarNeil30 BSL (british sign language ) :p

  • @mitone14 ohh ok thaxx

  • THIS IS WRONG.. first off 3 is not like you did it. 3 is the index finger, the middle , and the thumb.. if you r gonna do it, please do it correctly. the reason you cant do three like that is because it looks like a "W" in the sign alphabet. no affence! :(

  • @lilgothicgirl01 The 3 is not signed wrong, with 'W' you seperate the fingers as with '3' the fingers are stuck with eachother

  • so this is the international sign language alphabet..?

  • btw! You should really write in the description that its bsl! XD Dont think people know there are many types of sign languages. Pfft in america we got tons for teaching and oral (for those in oral schools) purposes outside of ASL.

  • BSL! I thought it was Auslan at first. Both seem so alike

  • I find it ridiculously impossible for anyone to to keep their pinky touching their palm with every other finger up.

  • Yes, This is Auslan (Australia Sign Language), BSL (British Sign Language) & NSL (New Zealand Sign Language) not ASL for USA & Canada.

  • @mikejoezark ah ok. for a minute i was gonna say dam this doesn't even look like sign language looks more like someone wanted to pretend to teach it and did everything how they perceived it was right. but i guess that when the first person maybe sing language that's just what they did... agree on what they thought looked good.

  • @Unholyentity17 When i think about it, ASL coulda looked like this if gally had not been refused in the UK and didn't bring back Clerc from france.

  • @mikejoezark I thought auslan had a few variations

  • Woah~! My french sign language used two hands for the numbers.

It makes me want to learn this British sign language~! <3

  • Hmmm this is different......

  • This number system makes way more sense to me than ASL. Go Britain.

  • This Sign language isn't American. This is british and New Zealand fingerspelling, and numbers :)

  • this is not proper sign language ...

  • @randomart100 it is. it's just not ASL it is BSL(british sign language)

  • @randomart100 actually it is, this is British Sign Language.

  • Thanks i got confused here since i am a beginner for ASL, now i see its BSL. Good to know another language in sign.

  • his sign is different then mine.

  • flyinmonkeyz0788 They do look like an ass when they go after people and dont know what they are talking about

  • wow interesting i wasnt aware of bsl thats cool!

  • Not how u do the alphabet

  • @jazzy294

    Watch whole video please.

  • Anyone else notice its a Zelda song in the background?

  • Haha i think it is for people like Helen Keller . :/ ?

  • For all the people saying "this is not ASL", it never said it is ASL, this is BSL

  • ASL is more like French sign language, apparently. This is definitely BSL

  • ASL Is WAY More Easier!!!!

  • its BSL and apart from 10, which doesnt require the 0 bit on it was all good and correct and it is not dumb/rubbish

  • yeah thats british sign language. BSL and ASL are completely different

  • this is british sign language.

  • this isnt sgn language

  • that is not sign language, its dumb language.

  • @yourgirl1989 ur dumb.

  • It would be nice if it would be clarified which one this is. I'd like to learn different types of sign language, but informing/intriguing the viewer wld help. This vague title is like posting a title of "Food" to a video of a recipe for (blank). Thats why some were frustrated.

  • As soon as i saw "A" i thought, Yeah, that's not ASL, this guy's full of it.

Then i saw A,E,I,O,U all on one hand and thought, yeah that totally makes waaay more sense than american sign language. That HAS to be Brittish.

  • Umm sorry to say this.... But WHAT THE HELL!!! That is not the way i was taught the alphabet. Um the one i know is SO much simpler to!

  • This question might seem stupid, but how many sign languages exist? And wich ones are the most used.

  • What the fuck is this? This is not fucking ASL. Get some fucking logic, you asshole.

  • @superjim3333 does it say its american in the title? NO it doesnt so fuck off you pathetic yank arsehole...not everything revolves around america you know, maybe your mother didn't teach you any manners. oh ell what a shame aye? MUG!

  • this is not sign language you ASS

  • @sharki369 Yes. Yes it is.... haha

  • When someone invents time travel, I shall go back in time and punch Braidwood in the face repeatedly until he agrees to teach Gallaudet his educational methods. Or maybe just assassinate him and force the British authorities to turn to Épée as well. The world has enough language barriers as it is without different Sign Languages creating even more.

  • You should have said it is British Sign Language, it could help clear up the confusion which kind of sign language you wanted to teach us. Thanks.

  • This is British sign language.

  • kool

  • what that is not how I learn to count in sign language. well I'm not deaf but I just still learn it, incase I make a friend that does use sign language, so I can communicate. anyways. I learn that when you count 1 is pointer, finger 2 middle finger, 3 you thumb, 4 thumb on palm, rest of fingers up, 5 all fingers open, 6 thumb and pinky touching, 7, thumb and ring finger touching, 8 thumb and middle finger touching, 9 thumb and pointer finger touching, and 10 do thumbs up and shake it.

  • Its british, and for the most part Australian

  • what about æ,ø,å?? huh? your racist!! :D

  • I believe that this is British Sign Language.

  • This music is making me sleepy...

  • @sugarmagnolia787 it's another version of canon by pachelbel. :)

  • which language is that?

  • Well Sign Language. Not two hands of a to z. Better one hand of a to z.

  • Just to clarify for everyone this is not asl, this is in fact British sign language. Although americans seem to think their way is the be all and end all of everything, sadly to say that isnt true. He isn't "wrong" he just didn't post American. I've been using bsl to teach English for a while now and children actually find it easier than asl.

  • wtf

  • Can somebody PLEAAASE verify that this is BSL??

  • i see by @reloadedditto every body hates americans. we are on the same planet, lake, tree or stream all connected!!

  • Well this isn't american sign language, not saying it's wrong for a different language, but if it's supposed to be ASL it's wrong

  • @MsErin67 that's coz it's not ASL, it's BSL.

  • @MsErin67 It's BSL

  • @MsErin67 It's British Sign Language.

  • @MsErin67 It's BSL. British Sign Language. The original sign language.

  • @MsErin67 it's bls (British sign language)

  • finally I find one. now I can show my classmates!

  • I think this is British sign language because I know this is not asl

  • This is so wrong. The person signed the letter "w" instead of three

  • wrong

  • Guys he only done word wrong big deal, you do not talk to people like that

  • Srry abcs = wrong

  • those letters are not the correct way to sign them...ive known those since i was little and thats not it....sorry if i sound rude!! :)

  • @terrysgirl32 not to sound rude but it is, it's BSL (british sign language) :p

  • i know sign language but srry thats not it

  • this not how i learned sign language

  • 0:34 is that a gun wtf

  • ha ha BSL true \

  • This is BSL.

  • I disagree BSL too old!, you need ASL!!! one hand mobile video!

  • @cityofbluelights he is not doing it wrong, It just isn't asl it's British or something. Don't criticize, cuz now you look like an ass

  • @KaitKatt that's exactly what MsErin67 said. he/she does not look like an ass.

  • You are doing the alphabet wrong dip shit.

  • yeah, I was gonna say- that's not the alphabet. So are those even really American Sign Language numbers?

  • is this english sign language?

  • is this it cause i saw other videos that were different than this

  • What sign language is this?

  • Not asl!!!!

  • Thank you so much..this was really great. I found it quite hard to do number 9. My fingers didn't want to do what I wanted them too. But thank you for sharing. It was a clear and easy to follow video.

  • the alphabet is not right!

  • @lovebare1

just because it is not asl does not mean its wrong

  • this is not ASL

  • I was looking for videos on learning sign language. I found an American one and was watching that. Then I looked at this one and was so confused because it was different. I feel like a total DA now. XP

  • Note. That isnt the American version for all those USA peeps

  • Can any of you be a bit more rude? I came here to learn a great language and I see these nasty remarks. What a shame we can't communicate without insult people anymore.

  • thats not right it diffrent from i learned

  • Was this the "sign language" used for Helen Keller? Because she couldn't see (as well as not hear) she could feel the lettering, the numbering in her hands... Does anyone know?

  • just recently started trying to learn sign language have to say that personally I think ASL is easier, but the letters/signs in British sign language look more like the letters from the alphabet

  • This is totally wrong..

  • @babynijer99 I'm asuming you don;t know that there are more than one sign languages, it's not just Americans that have sign language, British have thier own too.

  • @TheRetna1111 Yes I know but they should be a little more clear on which origin of the sign language their talking about.

  • @babynijer99 i watch loads of ASL videos with no reference to what 'type' of sign it is at all.

  • ASL is far more powerful, faster than BSL.. That BSL sign language ABC and blah blah blah is wierd, retard lol hahaha..

  • @OpenskyUSA1980 BSL is the original sign language, we invented it and yours came from ours so calling ours retarted and weird is shallow minded and dumb... idiot

  • Definitely not ASL..

  • not ASL.

  • this is british

  • is this British ?

  • that is sooo not american sign language

  • @bookworm91127 thats not how I remember learning the numbers. It could be some other form of Sign language though, not American

  • @Adora2008 ik now it is british shin language

  • @bookworm91127 i don't believe it says anywhere that it's supposed to be ASL ... ?

The links in the info should indicate quite largely what type it is. ;)

  • @bookworm91127 that's coz it's BSL, ok.

  • that looks harder

  • @bookworm91127 its the english sign language

  • @bookworm91127 Isn't it BSL?

  • @bookworm91127

Who says that it is ASL?

Typical American. Always thinking that there's nothing else in the world besides there American bullshit.

  • @d34d10ck Typical anti-Americans. Grow up, quit bashing Americans, oh and your statement is absolutely false. Sounds like you're ignorant about the Americans, lovin' the irony?

  • @msmall92

Which statement? That Americans are absolutely self involved and hardly ever notice that there exist any other cultures besides theirs in the world? I don't think so and you can't even blame them for it, because how should they know if they don't learn it in school and the media consists of only a few propaganda news stations.

You might think, that the Internet would spread some information across cultures but that's not really the case, also. There are still huge gaps between them.

  • @d34d10ck Why are you making such a hasty generalization? What country are you from? I am an American and I am definitely not close-minded about cultures and pretty much my family, friends, and even my classmates are the same. It's really sad to see people bashing America because of our media. Just keep in mind that the American media does not actually represent the minds of the majority of Americans. We Americans know that the media are not to be trusted all the time.

  • this is not american sign language. This is british i think. I personally like ASL better.

  • is this signed english or american sign language

  • number 17 is like your shooting a gun... lol hahahaha!!!

  • LOL yeah I saw it look like gun boom on # 17 hahaha lol.. Very strange..

  • Good but I found the pace of the alphabet a little fast for me as a beginner.

  • @manyatrickpony thankyou, this was really really helpful :)

  • so for deaf americans and deaf british is hard to communicate?? i know is a stupid question

  • @XxScreamInSilencexX No, I have been told that ASL is widely understood.

  • ok this is about sign language, not about what country u are from respect the deaf, and get off here with ur shitty politics and go fight somewhere else nobody cares...btw this is bsl...someone should fix the title..so ppl arent confused so much..and quit complaining about where its from, if ur learning, mine as well learn both, helps in the long run when looking fro interpreting jobs too.

  • it's BSL not ASL

  • @yumiax if I learn ASL can I still be understood by those from other countries...say those who use ISL?

  • @dauchshundlover1 it's hard to say, there are many variations between sign language in different regions and countries, for example some countries like Australia use two hands for the manual alphabet, remember sign language is exactly that, a language so people from countries that speak that same language as yours may share similar or common signs but there probably will be variation, people from countries with a different National language may not. My best suggestion :research the ISL signs

  • @dauchshundlover1 ASL is not universal, just like any other language, you'll have to look into learning the basic of the language for wherever/whoever

  • @dauchshundlover1

You know how we have different languages like Spanish, Chinese, Japanese? It's the same for sign language . In different countries they have different ways to sign. This is just the American way.

  • HOLY SIGN LANGUAGE...... this is way more complicated than ASL....

  • this is stupid

  • Look lets get thos straight every american is not an american. Every single person here has ancestors from a different country.the only people who are natural born americans are native americans. So I think u should shut yout american hatin ass up cause u dont know shit and I never said I hate immigrant I bet the only real national tragedy youve heard about is 9/11 which americans had no part in so fuck u and learn yo facts

  • This isnt rite i learned a diff way

  • @snookijunior that probably cuz this is BSL (British sign language) maybe ur thinkin of ASL

  • this isnt how you count to twenty everyone

  • your wrong thats not how you cout to 20 in sighn languige i am def

  • Hi. How r u?

  • this is the correct sign language in Britain I was taught this in school each region is different so if your not from britain stop moaning saying its unfair because its kinda selfish that your just thinking about american people when us british people would like to learn sign language aswell.

  • That's not how u do it!!!!

  • thats not the real sign language alphabet i know the whole thing and thats not it

  • @SuperPsychos101 Same here, i totally agree

  • @SuperPsychos101 This is correct BSL (Bristish Sign Language), it's obviously quite different. But it's correct.

  • nice music.... .

  • hello :D I want to know what kind of sign language is from? I meant from U.S.A or for astralia o other country :D plz let me know

  • I've watched a few bsl tutorial videos that do alphabet and only just realised that all the vowels are on the fingers.

  • If you're in America, and this wasn't the video you were looking for, unlucky. Just go and find another video that teaches you the right signs for your geographic region! It's not really a big deal :L

  • Totally wrong

  • When looking for an online American Sign Language learning program, you need one that will suit your needs. You need an online American Sign Language program that will be conducive to your learning style. Some of the main features to look for in an American Sign Language Program online include, grammar presented in a video format for ease of understanding, themed lessons with limited vocabulary learned in lesson.

  • BSL Sucks. Lol

  • These are not the correct signs.... jussayin...
