  • Very athletic, very posey but nothing that shows the true attitude and spirit of the application as it should be done.

  • Great jop guys unbelievable team <)

  • 2:11 the best part !!!

  • Làm sao để ghi lại được phần Bunkai đây, máy nghe nhạc mà k hỏng thì có cái để mà tập roài

  • Very good!!!

  • never seen mor acrobatic bunkai than this !

  • fake and gay

  • @Medallion702 the bunkai is always fake because they aren't silly enough to hurt their own friends but you must put the word "gay" for your ass

  • @Medallion702 wow but i bet either one of them could kill you

  • Yes, Kissaki Kai does a great job, and in a very creative way....much more practical than JKA teaches. These competition people are great but they are training to look good and amaze those watching them....and they really do look great. I vote for Kissaki Kai.

  • AWESOME MAN !

  • ... WKF world champs in 2007 ? ...

  • that was just str8t bad ass

  • amazing

  • best unsu bunkai what i saw in my life

  • @bornintosuffering How Sad!!

  • Very athletic and very good for competition. Also, very Hollywood, sadly.

As this was so successful, it's a shame, as others will emulate and we'll get further and further and further away from the true applications of these beautiful and brutally simple katas.

  • @bertthepickle You are absolutely right! They are great athletes...amazing skills!

Their applications are just not realistic at all though. Part of this is because they do not know the practical aspect, and partly because the kata itself is not like the older version ( Aragaki Unsu and others ), and therefore has no real bunkai. Shotokan katas are just too watered down to have realistic bunkai. On the other hand though, they are great at technique and skill development.

  • @Ronin6575 Well, I wouldn't go so far to say that shoto katas don't have realistic bunkai. The Kissaki Kai group have plenty of very practical, realistic and painful bunkai for most shoto katas. There are probably other groups out there with similarly practical bunkai. You just need to look beyond this poor competition stuff.

  • @bertthepickle then obviously you are to narrow minded to see the application of shotokan kata

  • @ShotokanBleach It would be useful for you to study the difference between realistic applications and competition-oriented ones. There are massive differences in timing, range, multiple flurries and really very good reasons not to throw yourself onto the floor whilst executing a jumping roundhouse to the head (not that you'd do that anyway). Check out videos by Geoff Thompson, Iain Abernethy and Vince Morris for more realistic applications. Do you expect to be attacked by an oi-tsuki? Really?

  • @bertthepickle I agree some of these kata are very beautiful but competitions have turned them into shows rather than a way of homing your skills

They should do more internal kata instead of showing off

  • I've never seen Unsu done this hard...wow ^_^

  • Wooow. You people make me proud to be a karate practicioner. This here is really excellent and and worth every second of my time.

    My deep respest.

  • That's very interesting, I make Ju Jutsu an Kickboxen. Maybe I begin with Karate must see...

(Sry my english isn't very well, but I try that you can understand^^)

  • Wao... esta brillante... Pero que tal demostracion.. Apuesto que ganaron ;)

  • They won the WKF world championships .. and you say that it's nonsense and ridiculous ????

    please, don't underestimate people !

  • Lol, there just always has to be douche bags on youtube who think they know everything...

  • i agree with you.i've been practising Karate (traditionnal part), the real budo like Taiji Kase or some others used to, and that's so different from what they show on this video.

  • INCREDIBLE! Bravo guys!!

  • Brilliant i am 15 and a brown striped and i have jst started to learn it it isn't easy i mean the jump i can do ok but need's more work

  • None of the bunkai they performed was of any move they performed in the kata. So rediculas. What is the point of showing the bunkai if it doesn't match the kata. Good technique, but very poor application.

  • Comment removed

  • Completely nonsense bunkai ...

  • the kata is nice, but the bunkai is ok

  • Depends on how seriously you take whatever you're training in. I've never seen any style of Karate as a "sport", & I've had to use some of those moves in real encounters before. Of course you wouldn't use the dojo environment as an example for "real" self- defence.

  • geto lost faggot

  • WoW

  • oh my god...

  • desde mi humilde opinion....

ESPECTAKULAR!!!!los pelos de gallina se me han puesto.....

    la perfeccion al limite....un 9,90

    ooss!!

  • I'm really sure the bunkai probably could apply on a street fight if you practice on it precisely.

  • I've been practising bunkai formany years and I was wondering if you think that bunkai prepare to kumite?and also, do you think bunkai could be efficent on a street fight?

  • no i do not think it would be efficent in either kumite or a streetfight. the reason is that is exactly planned before, which makes it way different from kumite. the second reason is the fact that there are impossible moves in bunkai, that look good but cant be performed in a fight ( e.g. grabbing ones arm lifting him up, turning him twice while holding him in the air and then throwing him on the ground) thats just impossible without the help of the other person ..

  • well ... it might be possible if the your enemy is a child ^^

  • If you are talking about this choreographed nonsense that they do as Bunkai in this video, then of course none of this can function in a street fight. However, proper bunkai does function for street fights, and many MMA fighters study bunkai that have derived from Shotokan Katas. Sport Karate is not meant to be used for fighting.

  • That was astonishing.

  • I didnt recognise Mostafa without the beard!

Great performance worthy of the Gold.
