  • strange video... with the conversion of units my car that I bought in a random shop is doing 50 mpg , it's standard where I live, it's even the cheapest cars who do like 4.5 or 5 liters per 100 km ....

  • how to you get it to pass emisions?

  • Lots of effort for 50mpg, import a vw polo bluemotion from Europe, 70mpg

  • @tomibby - not a legal. VW polo will not import into USA

  • @tomibby - can't import a Polo Bluemotion into USA. Not legal here

  • Dirty politics indeed!

  • this guy sounds half retarded.

  • @novachevyguy ...says the Hybrid lover.

  • I have a 73 Econoline, I bought it for the engine location, can be accessed, I would love to get a diesel put in it. I know a guy who graduated from a tech college, designing and working on diesels for Europe, America is restricted. The EPA here is why diesel vehicles are killed, they demand a zero emission version for 2014, something impossible for gas engines, not a requirement either!

  • Nice convertions, altho in about 90% of cases Biodeisel burns better and lubricates the engine more than normal deisel, plus it's cleaner, if what you said was about deisel burning better than bio? But if Bio is mixed right you will be producing more power than normal deisel.

  • @MrTpengineer When Rudolf Diesel invented the engine there was no petroleum for it, it ran off of peanut oil, was so powerful he was injured in an explosion, the engine blew, but he perfected it, the oil industry got involved, now everyone believes this bio-shit is new technology! Just like Henry Fords alcohol Model T, imagine, Mr Ford knew we needed alternate fuels, just as Mr Rudolf designed a renewable resource engine, we've forgotten.

  • @Maples01 Uh blew up an engine because of peanut oil? Performance wise that's great, it just needs to be ajusted better. Plus Bio ain't shit? You can look up plenty of video's across the web about Biodiesel and they all show how there's a performance booost of regulare diesel. I'de rather make diesel than buy it at almost twice the price of gas right now!

  • @MrTpengineer You missed what I said, when designing the engine, one blew up, was not because of peanut oil, was compression, read the history, this is the man who made the engine. I mentioned it to prove the power, I'll say again, in Rudolf Diesel's time there was no petroleum for it and he didn't want an engine confined to the oil industry!

  • @Maples01 Oh, sry I didn't realize you weere saying theat bio diesel isn't new, but yea alternative fuels go back as far as Ford's electric Model T's and alcohol / gas burning vehicles. Weird how electric vehicles at the time had the eficiency of Hybrid's today and went the same speed as gas vehicles!

  • @MrTpengineer Electric is from the late 1800's, they were known as the woman's car, hand crank starts were not only difficult but hazardous at the time, they could hop in and go shopping. Gas didn't kill the electric car, it's not reasonable on a large scale, they require charging, the power grid even today could not sustain a large load of electric cars, solar nor wind could ever meet demand and require too much area cleared for use, cutting trees ain't an answer!

  • Read about what happened to Rudolf Diesel.

  • @Gaspipenicklioni That's unfortunate but he probebly wasn't killed from inventing an alternative fuel? Million's of people are doing it and there not dead...

  • Its crazy we don't even get many diesel options over here, when in other countries most vehicles are available with a diesel. Good Work!

  • thumbs up for random thumb at 0:09 :-)

  • I wanna buy a truck like that how much?

  • I'm not against what you are doing, but how do you get around the EPA regulations? You need subtitles for the deep southern accent and lack of a good microphone. If it wasn't for the strict emissions regs in Mn I'd put a small diesel in my 93 F150 instead of driving a smaller less safe Ranger. By the way there is at least 150-200 years of "known" oil reserves in Alaska and the US govt classified that in 1973 and made them cap the well. We wouldn't have a huge deficit if we used the oil we have.

  • Nice to see there is still some real good ole fashion Americans around!! Thanks for the video. Excellent job!!

  • no college educated mechanics FTW!

  • Only thing I don't like is the tractor diesels are noisier than heck.

  • @sokodad I like noisy:-P

  • @CowboyPenner But after a long drive your ears would be ringing.

  • i had this idea and you made it excellent... good job. i think this will help a lot.. :) cheers from Ukraine :)

  • Good Job Gary, bout time someone has the guts to stand up and call it like it is. Now, I would like to see you put a HHO cell on them and see what you get for mileage! That'd be cool! Best of luck to ya...

  • was it a super charger or turbo charger

  • @halopersin Centrifugal blower/super charger

  • @roaddiablo since i put the comment i have found out all the differences

  • love it!!!!! Can i buy one from you?
