I've just dug out the 7" vinyl and thought 'this has to be the first real trance track, I'll stick it on you tube' but I've obviously been beaten many times! Incredible when you think about it. Did anyone hear this at the Hacienda?
yeah this is the one......nothing compares to you.lol....technically not one of his best mixes, but this still shines through. but i am sure it sounded amazing on the night! is there a better quality upload?
I first heard this on Granada Reports, Tony Wilson invited loads of ravers onto the show and they had a big argument about drugs with some older people. Towards the end of the show he got all the young ravers on the floor, smoke and lights came out of nowhere and the DJ slapped this song on the decks, it was about 89-90, i was 14, and i thought it was was the best thing i had ever seen.
In those days (summer 1990) I used to play in Italy near France (cote d'azur) and I use to put on this awesome tune "the Realm " accappella. "something for your mind, your body and your soul...."
Played this at my school disco to my fellow 13 year old classmates - it cleared the floor - they knew nothing about music! Amazing track. Still sounds great today. Great post. Thanks.
We were a bit older then at our discos & when tunes like this or say 808 state, together or the mondays came on a select few of us would try 2 dance like mc tunes or bez! The rest dint get it they were in2 metal!
@andrewt008 LOL@MC TUNES....Nicky lockett , my mate used to dj with him a shady house (in a house) partys around epping walk in the bull ring flats in moss side circa 1990 (manchester)..Top lad, and a complete nutter.
At a 'Positivity' night at The Academy in Plymouth (Union Street) back in Xmas 1990, Sasha played this track at the very end+did the most unbelievable mix ever by mixing 'Nothing compares to you' by Sinead O'connor over the top of it. Fucking amazing. Positivity 2 i believe. What a mix. That was when it used to be fully loved up. He also played a version of 'Long train running' by the doobie brothers but with a female vocal+he played 'Temptation' by Corinna. Top tunes.
SEQUINS IN BLACKPOOL / I used to travel from the north east of england every week, this was one of my first musical memories of those crazy crazy weekends :)(all be it a bit mashed) BLISS!!
Feel like crying, but fucking made up to have been there. Got shivers down my spine. I'd sell my soul for one more night in Quadrant Park (Liverpool) and an original disco biscuit, even though they were 20 quid each, money well spent! Wheres my Addidas Tortian trainees?

Quality - The first time I heard this was at a Rave in England - It blew me away (well the china white helped) They dont make music like this anymore, its a stomper!
I used to visit Both Roxy and IT just about every weekend and for me it was more of a Roxy anthem...Would love to see the video!!! Still have the 12" (and some 12" remix!!)
Both were awesome..Lucky to have been part of it all.
Oh and by the way..Technotrance was the last ever tune played at "The Thunderdome" miles platting Manchester. THE pioneering Acid-House club of England.
Will never forget "Clear-Windowpane's" (LSD gels) and the Thunderdome....RIP
Oh my this just gave me goosebumps!!!I was there in the IT back then.....fabulous days!!Also loved the Roxy where this track was played loads as well!!
