Guys, I need some help! I played wow but got really sick of it! and i'm thinking of a new mmo but i can't find something that's as good as wow in terms of gameplay. I tried aion but that wasn't for me! too much grinding stuff. Is Diablo a mmo that could fit me? I watched some video's and it seems it's nice but is there a storyline in it? So do I need to play Diablo 1 & 2 to keep up with the storyline? Plz, answer. Ty

@kouterken Diablo isn't an MMO. It's an action RPG with a multiplayer component, max 4 people per game. And while you don't need to play the other games to get the story, it can't hurt. Mind you though they are old games and it shows, especially D1.

no 'need' to play previous games as the story is super lite in diablo series, however, as Diablo2 is one of the greatest pc games of all time, I highly recommend it! And also since chances are this game isn't coming out for another year maybe, you have time~

Yep, devs have said that the strength of Diablo is on its action and loot collecting. They are trying to incorporate more story during gameplay, but it's hardly going to become like a dragon age or baldur's gate. This is an arpg - action rpg afterall.

I really liked the look of the jungle environments, but it seems like the desert stuff really needs some detail work. It's not even close to release, so I have faith. Blizzard makes great games, always.

As far as I know some of the developers work on Torchlight (already on the market) with some other guys and want to make it like a more mild type of Diablo and an MMO.

They are smart by delaying this they know it will take away from their baby that is known as World of Warcraft. While sc2 won't detract much of that fanbase since it isn't rpg type of action adventure medieval game.
