You fill the glasses up with a certain amount of water, then put salt on the rim of it, and move your finger around the rim of it....it's really easy once you get the hang of it =)

Well.. its just a lot of wineglass with water in them.. And each glass has a different amount of water which controlls the different notes.. And thats pretty much it..

@Miss0Ged To further continue: the water in the glasses control if the note is sharp or flat. The size of the wineglass it self controls the note it plays. Now to actually get a note out of the glass you need to have your fingers wet so they smoothly vibrate the glass to form a pitch.

@bikbikboktaschereau If you want to test it, the water control works the same as having a coke bottle and changing the amount of water and blowing over the top. the more water you put in will give you a higher pitch where very little water will give you a low sound. mix that with the moist fingers (your fingers have tread like a tyre) and the friction generated causes reverberations in the water. The shape of the wine glass then channels the sound and echoes it.

@bikbikboktaschereau Resonance. When he rubs the rims of the glasses with wet fingers, the glass vibrates at many different frequencies but you only hear the "resonant" frequency. Basically this is the frequency that the water filled glass as a "system" wants to vibrate the loudest at. Put different amounts of water in each glass and you change the resonance frequency for each one. Rub the rims of the difference filled glasses in a pattern and you have music.

@bikbikboktaschereau well, the glasses each have water in them making them a different pitch. but to make the sound, you wet your fingers a little, and then very fast but gently, you would circle the rim of the wine glass, making the glass vibrate and vibration= sound. and there you go. if you want to know the feeling, wet your fingers and then go to a glass surface or a mirror and then press it firmly and start moving your finger. that's basically what it feels like if it were on the wine glass

@bikbikboktaschereau A person would fill up the whine glass with water, push down the base(so it doesent move) and with the 'playing finger' push on the outerrim, while wet, and make revolutions around the top of the glass, whilst pushing down. the harder you push, the louder the sound.
