It's been days in my game since I planted a tree but it still won't grow even though I planted it on untreated dirt and surrounded it with torches and glowstone.

After you plant saplings you have to wait few days but you can just get yourself some bones and put them in the crafting thingy and make bonemeal from them then just right click on the sapling and the tree will grow instantly dunno what version bonemeal was added but it is in 1.3

@Benchye Nope, your tree will grow fine without water, it needs light though

oh i thought that if you planted a tree on the same ground as you plant seeds on it woudl grow, but it didnt grow yet :p
