@N1V3K0141 Originally the Ecstasy wasn't designed for that type of metal. Personally, I think it could do a wide range of 80s/90s metal. For super brutal stuff, the Bogner Uberschall could do it no problem, it's a killer amp as well. If price was no barrier whatsoever, then the DIezel VH4 would probably be your best bet. It's a monster!

their best is the ecstasy. their second depends on what youre going for. combo is either shiva or duende. they both get insane cleans. for heads if you want high gain and messy overdrive its uberschall. if you want insane cleans its the shiva head.

I wanted an Ecstasy but couldn't quite afford it. I found an Uberschall (2007) on Craigslist for $1600 and honestly couldn't be happier! Amazing clean channel and ultra high gain channel. I know the Ecstasy has more when it comes to the clean channel, but honestly, the Uberschall comes very close!

Yikes.....you can't be serious. I've had my Einstein for over a year now and it's a fantastic amp. Saying one is better than the other isn't a fair comparison. If you aren't getting gain and note articulation out of your Diezel then either something is wrong with it.

Who said one was better than the other?I had very limited use for the Deizel for my style of playing.Note articulation was the high point of the einstein but it lacked the tight punch i get from my peavey or got from my marshall.this is my personal preference.not versatile enough for me.

Again, though, it would depend upon what cab and speaker combo you are running. People who dont own and play boutique amps, espicially this one have no way to understand why its worth 3300.00. The B52, XXX, 5150 etc do not have the tone the bogner has, they have gain. Gain doesnt equal tone. Second they dont have the features that this amp has, selectable efx loop series or parallel, no 1/2 power switch, no way to control every aspect of the amp. That is what is so special about the amp, not the gain amount. And by the way, the more gain an amp has the less tone it has.

I still dont get why this amp is worth over 2000 USD, It does not sound that special, just like the other boutique amps out there, their over 2k and they arent any better than a carvin legacy really, and even if there were some differences, its nothing a tech couldnt modify a cheaper amp to sound better, its just circuits. Its like guitars, Gibsons vs Epiphone, not even, the gibsons always have worse frets, and oh no, better woods woopdeedoo, the stupid amount of paint hides the tone anyway.

In reality, with most amps, you can take the parts and expertise under scrutiny, and you'll find that the overall value of these things does not properly justify the price tag. Well, I have a made in USA Crate tube amp. And yeah you'll notice crate, wow worst amp company ever. It sounds better than this thing does, and im not going to argue because I know i'm right. The gain character is far too saturated on this thing and the clean isnt crispy enough. I've played this bogner at a friend's. BTW I play metal and use overdrive on overdrive to pwn this amp at metal.

In my opinion, the Soldano SLO tone blows away the Shiva and the XTC. Its smoother than the Shiva, and it has more cut than the XTC.

Its also made of far higher quality parts.

However, I still dig the SLO tone, but the XTC's super-smooth leads have grown on me. I still strongly dislike the Shiva though, as I played one a while back and it was not mind-blowing.

personally and this is because i own one (a bogner shiva) the shiva is a better bet i have the el 34 one and its clean rapes the ectasys and tho the distortion cant reach this high of gain if you need that all i have is a Vision Sound Jekyl and Hyde to get a even more metal sound but ive played both and the Bogner Shiva is way better... and also its 2600 dollars compared to 3300 of the ectasy
