I was there that night! Just had our last performance of Stalin the Musical the night before. We went to The Paint Show that night, and I went on to Gilded Balloon. I can remember apologising to one of Flight of the Conshords for knowing all the words to Copacabana that Nova Lounge played at the end.
Hahaha, I just found this video and I was there that night! It was a great show, the sound and video doesn't do it justice but it was great to see it, just to bring back memories!!
@SillyOclock Oh i get you now! I just wander if he's being "ironic" or just getting cheap laughs. Either way I think he's quite good. But I know what you mean, seems a bit silly of him
@SillyOclock Are you seriously suggesting that Peter Kay is a greater talent than Kitson? Kay, who has done nothing of any merit since he pissed off the great writing and performing ensemble that made Phoenix Nights what it was? Kitson who produces works of startling originality on average every few months? The co-creators of Phoenix Nights no longer speak to Kay, he's even had a pop at his best buddy and crap comic Paddy McGuiness. He's not thought very highly of at all by a lot of people.
@SillyOclock Kitson won the Perrier in 2002 (something Kay never did) - after that he could have taken the TV route but he instead decided to concentrate on his craft. He stopped playing the major venues in Edinburgh and started producing spoken word, theatrical pieces as well his stand up. He's won awards for these and received almost unanimous critical acclaim - his fellow comedians revere him. He doesn't do publicity, and he hates the idea of doing television.
Ah this is so annoying! I work in GIlded Baloon this year. I have become obsessed with FLight of the COnchords over the year. And at this festival kitson especially and also david o doherty. Would have been amazing to be workin late and live when this was made!

I was there too! One of the funniest comedic nights ever. The Metro cow got smashed in two and crowd surfed over everyone out the back door.... :)
