I liked those more moderate comments who questioned one important issue: why should Indians (and indead all nationalities, ethnic groups and tribes) be allowed to mock with the accent of Brits, Germans and many others and nobody should be allowed to mock about an Indian accent?
If I do have a French, Italian or German accent, I will be proud of the accent that reflects my ethnicity, and if anybody mocks my accent it will reiniforce in me a pattern of pride and acceptance of what is mine. When someone calls someone a Paki witout knowing whether or not they're Pakistani is a bit rude, it's like an Indian person calling a Russian person, Italian, or a British man, an 'Aussie'.
