Several of my comments are missing. Hm. Penalized for being too partisan? Like college all over again. Ha. No reason to come back after tonight anyways. Antiquiet has a great review of this album.
I was just telling my buddy the same thing. The first half is damn good, and then the acid that the band dropped at the middle of 'no one loves me' kicks in and the album gets more badass.
I'm feeling the slight Zeppelin sound. I like the guitar intro. I'm kinda disappointed there aren't any major guitar solos that really stand out, but still a great album overall.
I really don't understand why reviews are giving this album 3 stars on average. Its incredible, you hit play and a joint almost magically appears in your hand.
This one has a lot of JPJ in it to me. (Morroco-Cashmere feel to it) Josh really makes it shine vocally. ( Lennon/Beatles influence) And Dave's drumming brings it all into this century. I like it.
how good is this? it seems to grow by the hour. I sense an "event" kind of on the scale of Sgt Peppers here. In my head I've dubbed this LP "Wheels of Graffiti". I can't rule this out as a potential favorite band.
One Day asa Lion is pretty kick ass. I don't know what this argument is about, but if he doesn't like this it's not his fault. At least this guy likes good music. Although I think GNR is overrated....
Totally agree! I already pre-ordered the LP, and luckily, because i´m living in germany, tomorrow my Vinyl will already show up ;) absolutely love this band!
Very good! 5***** Still cannot measure up to Kyuss/QoTSA though (in my opinion), albeit the queens-ish sound, and the awesome alliance of Grohl, JPJ & Homme.
I'd recommend 'Gardenia' by Kyuss if you don't know what I'm talking about.
I agree kyuss has become one of my most played bands and i only found about them a year ago. they are gold stuff like that doesnt come around often but this is still great
Seamen I agree - I thought maybe Bowie meets T-Rex but with there own spin - awesome song - what a groove SPiders from Mars meets Jeepster- Jonesy going off on a couple diff instruments - I cant wait to see that part (who played what etc)
Wow. There definitely is a resemblance to Royal Orleans. I think Paulsy has found himself with another Jimmy. Hommes guitar mixing skills are similarly epic.
this track sounds a bit like masters of reality, but its cool that josh is incorporating styles from the artistist he works with. also a much better vocal technique... what a great classic pentatonic rock album..
my favorite from the album!
