I dont know if "give me your number" (and il stalk you...jk) is common in Texas, but where I live its more common to ask if they, aka the girl, would like my number and if they, maybe, want to do something later they could send me a wink on sms, or something. In which case they would send a "Hi.", ":)", or something to me if they wanted me to call them/respond via sms later for a date.
