Now i understand why a guy like Bugner never got any great support from Britain. Not even Parkinson seems to like the guy. I think it´s shame cause he was a really good contender. Even Audley Harrison is more respected, terrible. But ok Bugner wasn´t born in GB, yadda yadda yadda.

Ali wasn't a racist. It was just a reaction of being a black person in america during the Civil Rights Movement when black people were being oppressed quite severely by the white americans. NOI was a reactionary movement to that and Malcom X realised the racism and tried to change it around the time of his assassination. WRD Muhammad ended the racist (and heretical) ideology of NOI and changed it to the traditional sunni Islam. It all happened not so long after this interview.

Ali was a genius. I suppose it'd be sacrilege to some if I said that a mind and courage as unique as his was wasted on boxing, but it's what I sincerely feel whenever I see him on these old things, back in his prime.

@ludocrat - this is exactly the point. People as intelligent as Einstein have probably wasted their lives in cotton fields. Ali would have ended up being a carpenter in Louisville if it wasn't for Boxing - he said so himself many times.
Talent is all well and good but it needs opportunity to flourish. Boxing gave Ali the opportunity to show that he was an intelligent man. He comes across as such and he applied his intelligence to his craft to become excellent at it.

@c1itlicka I don't know if it's on YouTube but I remember Ali, Frazier and Foreman being interviewed together on the Wogan show (while the host was away, and Joanne Lumley did the interview) in 1989 when Foreman's comeback was underway, it was a little bit before his fight with Gerry Cooney and at a time when Mike Tyson, seemingly invincible, was five months away from facing Buster Douglas. I remember the underlying feeling at the time was "Do your best George, but don't expect too much,
